Kotaro Bokuto x Reader

Working as the Nekoma Boy's Volleyball team manager was always a joy, especially when you got to watch them play against a certain owl with frosted tips. Of course, you would never admit to anyone, but you had a massive crush on Kotaro Bokuto. You didn't know what you saw in him initially, but after a bit of time, you understood. You were attracted to his passion for volleyball, his drive to do better, and let's not forget things are never dull with Bokuto around.

Today was a day like any other. You went to school and afterward went straight to the gym to help set up for the practice match against Fukurodani. You were very excited, but you had to keep it low-key, so the team didn't find out about your crush on Bokuto.

Soon after you had finished setting up all the equipment, the Fukurodani Boy's Volleyball team had arrived. Without thinking twice, you searched for Bokuto in the small crowd of people. You immediately spotted him talking, more like bragging, to Kuroo about how he was getting better at his Trig class. Kuroo going along with his friend's rant, said, "Wow! Yea, I made a ninety-five on my Chemistry test." Which immediately made Bokuto get all sad and depressed. You laughed to yourself at the exchange and decided to go up and say hi. When you got to where they were standing, you saw Bokuto immediately perk up. He shouted, "Hey Y/N!!" even though you were only standing two feet away. You responded with a nod and said, "What's up, Bokuto?" But before he could answer, he was, much to your disappointment, whisked away by his team to start warming up for the practice match.

The practice match took forever to finish and went into the third set, both teams giving it their all. In the end, Fukurodani had won. After the match, both teams decided to go and eat together. This was typically normal for the two teams to do. You had planned to sit next to your friend, Kuroo like you usually would. However, Kuroo had a different plan. Kuroo, despite all your effort to keep it secret, knew about your crush on Bokuto. So he hatched a plan with both the Nekoma and the Fukurodani team the night before to get you two closer. Everyone knew about this plan except for you and Bokuto. The plan was for everyone to sit in different spots, ultimately leaving the seat next to Bokuto open. So when it was time to sit down, everyone had made their way to their assigned seats. This left you confused and nervous because now you had to sit next to Bokuto, who was clueless about what was going on. You then took your seat next to Bokuto, who was super excited to have you next to him.

After the first ten minutes of you being nervous, you began to let loose, and you and Bokuto started having some very interesting conversations. Mostly about how good he had played today. But you didn't care, you listened to him go on and on, and by the end of the night, you noticed that you had only talked to Bokuto the entire time.

As you guys were about to leave and say your goodbyes to the Fukurodani team, Kuroo pulled you aside to confront you about your crush. "Why don't you just ask him out?" he questioned. You were confused by his question and answer with, " Ask who out?" Kuroo facepalmed and stated, like it was the most obvious answer in the world, "Bokuto." You, terrified that he knew about your crush on him, blushed and yelled, "I do not like Bokuto!" Kuroo, annoyed, made a face as if he were saying, "You have to be kidding me?!" You, knowing that you were already exposed, confessed, "Yes, I like Bokuto. But you can't tell anyone!" Kuroo gulped and stated in a timid voice, "They uh kinda already know." Your face turns into a strawberry pink as you shouted, "WHAT!?" Kuroo then goes on to explain how they had planned for you to sit next to each other in hopes of getting you two together. After explaining their plan, he looked at you to see that you were in a state of pure shock. Not knowing what to say, you stammered, "W-what do I-I do now?" Kuroo once again stated the obvious by saying, "Go ask him out!" At that moment, you had decided that it was time to gather all of your courage and ask Bokuto out.

You quickly found the rest of the group and walked up to Bokuto. Nervously you stated, "Can I talk to you about something?" He was confused but still agreed, quite loudly. You pull him off to the side of the restaurant, away from the rest of the group, who were all smirking, knowing what was about to happen. Once you were both in the clear, you started to speak. "So uh, this is hard, but I want to tell you something really important." Bokuto, still clueless as to what you were about to say, responded, "Okay?" You gathered all your courage and shouted at him, "I really like you!!" He, still confused and clueless, responded with, "Yeah, I like you too, your a great friend!" You facepalmed already regretting what you were about to say. You looked him straight in the eyes and said, "Bokuto, I like you, as in I have romantic feelings for you." Bokuto didn't know what to say. In fact, this was the first time he has ever been left speechless. Once he found his voice again, he asked, in a soft voice, "You like me??" He continued to ask the same question over and over again until he was shouting, "YOU LIKE ME!?" Still scared of what he would say next, you put your head down and started to walk away. You were not good at handling rejection and too insecure to believe that he would actually like you back. However, Bokuto immediately saw you trying to run away and grabbed you and pulled you closer to him. "Wait, don't leave!!!" he shouted. He continued, "I like you too!!" It was now your turn to look at him in utter shock. The man you have been crushing on for a year just told you he also had feelings for you. Wow. You couldn't think straight, that was until Bokuto did something you were not expecting. He kissed you. You immediately responded to the kiss, and maybe you guys got a little carried away. But that didn't matter to the both of you. You were just happy to be with each other.
