Chapter 12

William sat down on his bed relieved that that was also over. He needed Ernest off of his back as he does his thing and the relief on Ernest's face when William introduced Vincent as his partner made it all clear, that Ernest tried to poison him and all because of Bert. William has to keep that in mind, Bert could get him killed just like in the past. Being with Bert ruined his life, he should always remember that when he is admiring him

William knows he has to be careful still, though he won't be paranoid as he was before. Now he can finally focus on his mission and not look over his back to see if anyone is about to attack him with a knife plus this means Bert could also back off. The far away Bert is from William the better, the better chances they are for him not to fall for Bert again 'Which will never happen' William just wants Bert far away.

William pulled out Bert's book, ever since Bert asked about the book he has never read it again feeling guilty. He feels guilty that he read something he didn't have to be reading and that is kind of stopping him, he doesn't know why he still cares about crossing boundaries with Bert, he should be reading the book without guilt after what Bert did but that was the problem, William finds himself still trying to be a good person to please Bert, he would like to say that he is like that because his mother raised him like that but he was clever enough to know why. He found himself pushing the book back under the mattress not reading it again.

A soft knock on the door pulled him out of his thoughts and after pulling on his mask he made his way to the door pulling it open, Vincent was standing there "Are you ready?" Vincent asked

"Let's do this" William accept taking Vincent's hand as they made their way to the dining area. Vincent and William haven't known each other for that long. William could not say that he knows Vincent because he doesn't but he also couldn't say he is a stranger either. William spent months getting ready for this, to finally get justice for his parents and himself and he is willing to go heights so that he can expose the truth to everyone and make those that hurt him pay for everything and to be able to get to where he is he had to change some parts of who he was.

William wasn't great with talking to people trying to create friends but Ebron taught him that. William doesn't like Ebron because they just never connected but he also couldn't say Ebron didn't teach him some stuff. Like having confidence and taking a leap to talk to someone even if you don't know them, with that training the first person William tried talking to was Vincent and they hit it off, William could say he was the first person he started a conversation with and it went well. This built his confidence a bit, showing him that he could do things only if he put his head into it.

Whereas between him and Vincent there was absolutely nothing going on between them and he didn't know Ebron will bring him to act as his partner. William thinks it is good because what is better than pretending with someone you know, a total stranger would have made this awkward. They both arrived at the table and it was just Ernest, they greeted him taking their seats "Are the rest not joining?" William found himself asking.

"My mother and king Charles are out, I think they will be late or miss it" Ernest replied sipping on his water his eyes on the both of them. William noticed how Ernest didn't say if Bert will be joining "So how long will you be staying with us"

"I don't know, I was thinking to get back with him" Vincent replied taking William's hand into his with a wide smile "I don't like being far from him, it has been days but I missed him like crazy"

"It is hard staying away from the one you love" Ernest said back watching the two act lovely with each other. He and Bert are not on great terms and he doesn't know where Bert disappeared to as usual, Ernest feels like he should put guards on him just so he knows where he disappears to when he leaves the castle however Ernest didn't have to wonder long when Bert entered the room whilst pushing his hair back, he looked so hot even though he looked as messy as always, this impresses Ernest, Bert doesn't try hard to look great but then he looks impeccable.
