''I'll talk to coach Finstock and sort everything out okay?'' Allison said reassuring Malia.
''Yeah, that sounds good.'' Malia said with a light smile.
''I'm just gonna go outside for a while to talk to Kira about this.''
Allison got up and went to the balcony, picked up her cell phone and dialed a number.
''Hey Kira, since you and Finstock are tight, will you do a favor for me?'' Allison asked.
''Yeah sure! What do you need?''
''I've got a friend here, her name is Malia, the thing is, she has no adults that can be responsible for her.''
''Not even grandparents or an aunt or something?''
''It's complicated, I'll explain to you later. So anyways, I thought maybe you could find a way with coach to get her to enroll without permission?'' Allison said raising her eyebrows.
''That's gonna be hard, Allison. Like, really hard.''
''I know, but I really like her, like a lot. I want her to succeed you know.''
Kira sensed the desperation in Allison's voice.
''Yeah, I get that. I'll see what I can do.''
''Thank you so much!''
Allison ended the call and smiled.
Malia realized the call was over and went outside to check on Allison.
''Why are you smiling so much?'' Malia asked, curiously.
''I think I'm gonna get you in!''
Malia wasn't so sure about the decision, but she saw the contagious smile on Allison and she couldn't help but smile herself.
''We'll go tomorrow okay?''
''Yeah.'' Malia said with her smile fading.
''What's wrong?'' Allison asked.
''I don't know, I'm just kind of nervous I guess? You need to understand I was a coyote for most of my life you know? And what if I don't fit in with your friends?'' Malia said nervously.
''I'm sure you'll fit in.'' Allison smiled and took Malia's hand.
''Thanks, Allison.''
