Ch 2

Before I can stop them, tears break their barrier and they tumble into my lap.

I slowly withdraw myself from Harry and step outside. I start to slide down the wall while I cry and cry and cry. I hear my door open then shut. I don't DARE look up. I then hear a panicked Zayn yelling for Liam. "Liam where are you? Liam hurry!!!" They run over to me dropping down to their knees. Liam places a hand on my shoulder. He starts by saying "Did you tell..." he doesn't continue for I nodded my head and cried harder. Liam then gathers me in his arms and holds me there. I cry a whole river of tears. When I finally look up with my bloodshot eyes, I see Liam's eyes locked with mine. I manage to mumble "This means a lot." He shushes me and starts to rock me in his arms. I somehow through all the mayhem fall asleep. I feel myself being lifted then placed on a bed. I feel Liam's hand pulling back and I grab it and make him sit with me. I fall into a dreamless sleep. I awake to see the moon shining in the starless night. Liam is sleeping next to me with his hand still clasped around mine. I look at his angelic face as he breathes in and out softly. He looks soo calm. I start to sleep again but I jump from a loud knocking on the door. I then hear Zayn whispering "Leave her alone Harry, she needs her space" I don't catch what he says next but then Harry starts pounding on the door and starts to shout "Open up Anjali! I need to talk to you!" I quickly wake up Liam. He thinks for a moment then goes over to open the door. He takes a deep breath then opens the door. Harry looks at Liam and his muzzled hair and pushes past him. He starts to walk toward me when I say, "Look. Liam is my best friend and he is my shoulder to cry on." "I opened up my feelings for you and you didn't seem to care." "So thanks for 'checking up' on me but I need some space" He looks at me with hurt eyes as tears start to form in them. I look away as my own tears start to fall. Liam quietly escorts him outside as a fresh batch of tears start flowing. Before I know it I'm being rocked in Liam's arms again. He starts singing my favourite song 'Moments'. As I force myself to stop crying, I stand up and interrupt Liam while he was singing for me. I whisper I had to the bathroom. I take small steps toward my room. As I open my door the phone rings. I pick it up and discover I'm scheduled to work in three hours. I slowly get ready and walk out in a dress. I work as a secretary for One Direction. I think back to the time when I first met them and landed my job
