Jungkook was a goner.
Ever since he's been to Taehyung's for the play date which was two weeks before, he's not been able to tear his mind off the same.
It felt like he has finally experienced his long lost childhood, his freedom, everything that once appeared as Oleanders, so appealing to the eye yet he was only able to admire it from afar.
He tasted his sweet freedom after dancing and singing around with Taehyung, which even prompted him into breaking open his piggy bank to buy the plushie of a koala he's been keeping an eye on ever since junior high.
His parents weren't the most supportive pillars or something, just some people who were never there in his life to begin with, and whenever they did come home, the only thing that happened was how Jungkook would break into smiles at first and then later on sulk with a once again broken heart.
He still vividly remembers the time when he put in a month of effort into making an origami version of a flower bouquet, and how he wanted to gift it to them on their tenth anniversary. But it always remained as a bittersweet memory in his heart of how they didn't even come home as promised that day, and when he did gift them the same a few days later, all he got in reply was an, "Okay" and a week later, he saw it laying about on the floor of their bedroom, dirty and squashed mostly due to stamping.
Just like how they stampeded on the love he offered to them.
Leaving such a home was indeed a lifetime worth decision he had to take, but living with people who just wouldn't accept him as he is made it difficult to even breathe. It suffocated him.
But life always has it's own complications, and even though he currently stayed over at Jin's, the two had to keep it a secret from the latter's parents cuz of two reasons. First off, they should never come to know Jin's been taking baking lessons without their knowledge and consent and two, they are some of the most conservative and narrow-minded people to exist out there.
Yes, they too treat homosexuality as a disease which according to them could be cured. And everything will be done for if they find out about Jungkook.
Despite the tremendous amount of stress weighing down on him, which included the pressure from his university as well, Jungkook still manages to keep himself from sinking into despair and hopelessness, and one of the solutions he found was to sleep whilst hugging the humongous koala. It had become a weird yet soothing addiction of his, and no matter what people had to say about it, those mattered the least to him.
He was not gonna let other's opinions enter the little bubble he created around himself, ever again.
Or so he thought.
But he was determined to make time for himself, even if just for a few minutes, all he wanted was to do things he liked, savor the moments he was unable to enjoy as his childhood was forcibly taken away from him and thereafter, only manners, rules, regulations, books and studies revolved around his life.
