The banging of walls and glass shattering woke fifteen-year-old Andrea out of her sleep.
"Just kill me leave my family out of it." She heard her father say which caused her heart rate to speed up to an unimaginable pace.
Fear made itself present in her father's voice, an emotion that she thought he didn't possess.
how could there be someone in their house putting her family in danger?
Why would her father be begging for his death?
What had they done?
She walked out of her room and slowly made her way downstairs and into the kitchen where the noise was coming from
the girl had no idea what had possessed her to go investigate but the scene that stood before her eyes she then fully understood the saying that her mother never failed to say whenever they were being 'fass' 'Curiosity it killed the cat'
She stood as she looked at her parents and big brother who were tied up and beaten badly her eyes moved across the room to the two masked men who stood looking at the blood that flowed from the faces of her family members.
There were two other men by the front door looking out, the girl stood in the spot and was unable to move.
How could this happen?
So many questions envaded her mind.
"Go back to your room monkey," Her brother Jude told her when he saw that she was present.
"Go upstairs baby everthing will be fine," Her mother spoke softly, Andrea stared at her mother's debilitated frame.
"Daddy loves you...." Her father drawled, he barely had any strength he could barely lift a finger.
The men turned to her and the taller, more intimidating one walked to her and held onto her arm making her flinch, he pulled her roughly and placed her on one of the barstools then fixed it so that she could see the bloody faces of her Mother, Father and Brother.
She looked away but he turned her head back to the scene.
"Enjoy the show," He mumbled in her ear.
The girl didn't listen, she turned her head once again not wanting to look at them.
He roughly grabbed her and led her out of the kitchen.
"Leave her out of this!" Jude shouted, He didn't need his little sister's memory to be tainted he didn't want her to always have those images in her mind, he didn't want her to be messed up mentally. He felt as if he'd failed, failed to protect her from the life he lived he only ever wanted what was best for his babygirl. His head hung low as tears streamed from his eyes and fell into his lap.
