Something Beautiful

Chapter four

"Hi-i" I stuttered.

I was enchanted by his soft smooth voice and his piercing green eyes.

"I'm Delani..." I added.

"That's a beautiful name. It suits you" he said cheekily . I blushed in response.

Damn he was gorgeous. The way his hair was combed up and neatly swept, the way his lips curled when he smiled the way his eyes sparkeled in the sun. His presense made me feel safe and comfortable even though I hardly knew him. It was a feeling I have never experienced before.

"Delani were going to the beach if you would like to tag along" mikayla grinned.

"I'd love to thank you" I smiled

I was making friends. I've never had friends before. I was determined to leave a lasting impression. The beach was right down the street so we all walked. Hayden and I walked together and I think we were hitting it off. I could possibly say I was falling for him. He laughed at my jokes and listened to what I said. No other guy has done that for me.

When we got to the beach I took in the sights. I've lived here for years and never made time to go to the beach. There were people tanning even though it was a bit chilly, and children everywhere! I was at the beach with friends having a wonderful time. Everything felt perfect.

Hayden took my hand and we sat down on the blankets everyone had laid out. We talked for a while about everything, me of course, leaving out the painful parts. Hayden was in college studying bio medical engineering. The fact that he was smart made Him even more beautiful. He told me about his very few girlfriends, and his past love life. He was wonderful. He explained his love for life and his hopes and goals. I listened intentivley soaking in everything I could get.

"Come for a swim?" He said, catching me by surprise.

"Isn't it a bit cold? And I didn't bring a suit..." I said feeling a bit sad now.

"Okay maybe next time" he smiled.

He stared at me with sympathy. He looked into my eyes with passion and tucked a stray strand of hair back.

"You're beautiful Delani." He said, his voice driving me crazy.

"Thank you" I blushed.

This was not happening.

"Delani let's go!" Zayn yelled. I smiled and gave Hayden a warm hug. He was the sweetest boy ever. But it couldn't mean anything.

When we got back to the boat, we were greeted by Don.

"Hello Delani, I've seen you made friends with Zayn eh?"

"Yes he is a lovely guy" I responded.

"Great then he will show you where to stay"

Zayn motioned me to what looked to be a bunk bed, probably in his room.

" you can have bottom bunk in case you need to get out"

"Sounds good" I smiled

That night we lay in bed Zayn on the top bunk. It was awkwardly silent, so I decided to help.

"Thank you for introducing me to your friends" I blurted out

"Mhmm.. I see you hit it off with Hayden huh"

I giggled. It was true. A nice guy has never liked me before.

"Yeh maybe a little" I smiled.

"Delani you seem like an amazing girl. I want to take you somewhere tommorow." He said.

I was confused... But Zayn seemed like the type of guy I could be best friends with so why not.

"Thats sounds perfect" I laughed and fell asleep.

Today was perfect.
