"Go to Hogsmeade with me?"

»»»»»»»»⭐««««««««

James Potter gives up. Funny thing to say actually, because the boy himself proclaimed he never gives up. But he was going to do so now. He was done with it. He was done with everything!

He was done with being constantly rejected and insulted at. He was done with seeing his efforts drain to the waste. He was done with all the flowers he had bought for Lily, only for her to throw those away. He was done of creating poems that Lily would only crinkled before she can even read the piece, he spent hours of writing.

He was done with the pain of rejection. And he gives up.

James Potter is tired and he didn't want to chase his darling Evans no more, or put efforts in pursuing the red head, because he was tired. He was getting wary of always being called an 'arrogant toe rag'. He tried his best, and now he gives up.

James flopped unto the couch in the empty common room of Gryffindors and sighed. His shoulders slumped in misery, his hazel eyes storming with sadness. Yes, James gives up. But that didn't excused him from being sad.

It's just hard to let go of things you spent almost your whole life chasing.

James Potter chased Lily Evans the very day she step foot on this castle. And those efforts were futile and were harshly rejected. He was getting tired of trying to seek hope, and throw away his dignity.

James was known to be a proud man (not that all of the marauders aren't also one). He doesn't simply lowers his dignity just for chasing the love of his life. No. But Lily Evans made an exception. But oh, how unfortunate was he, because Lily never reciprocated his feelings.

In fact, it was the opposite. Lily hates him.

And James was getting wary of it. So he decided enough is enough.

Some things just isn't meant for us to have. And he'll stick with those words as he sat on the couch, watching the flames blaze on the fireplace.

James ran a hand through his hair, ruffling it to mess, and he groaned in frustration. He shut his eyes and leaned back the couch trying to clear his thoughts and mend his broken heart.

He felt the couch sink from beside him, indicating someone just sat, which was odd since students are supposed to be at the Great Hall for dinner at the moment.

James breathed in an unfamiliar scent of vanilla. He fluttered his eyes open and look over to his side, only to see a face with relaxed posture, a small smile gracing her features, strands of h/c hair falling down from her ears, her e/c eyes focused on the book on her lap. And she smelt like soft vanilla.

A girl with s/c skin and a calm pretty face sat next to him.

Confused, he furrowed his brows.

"Uhmm..? Hi..?" he awkwardly voiced out.

The girl lifted her head slowly and turned to him, a small smile never even fading from her features. Her face were illuminated by the fire, making her look even more warm and welcoming.

"Hello." she said, softly. The smile she sends him made James even more confused.

"Why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be at dinner?" he said, crossing his arms.

She only offered him another gentle smile.

"I'm not particularly hungry." her voice was airy and dreamy as she continued, "but I do have something for you." she stated and look over her pocket.
