Why can't I feel anything?

It's warm.

The hot tingling sensation on my skin,

The sparkles from the sun,

The laughter and chattering.

All of this heat

Turned into a single drop of wax

Running down a burning candle.

The droplet drips onto my finger.

Am I meant to feel pain?

Why can't I feel anything?

Darkness . . .

It's windy.

The colourful leaves fly around me

The trees shake,

The screams of joy.

The wind swoons in

It sweeps me off my feet.

A pain on my cheek,

A drop of blood,

It drowns me in a crimson lake.

Why can't I feel anything?

Darkness . . .

It's pretty.

The growth of plants,

The blooming flowers.

A time to be born again.

The vibrant green grass,

It consumes me.

Dragged into a pit of hell.

A cycle of death.

The end is nearing.

Why can't I feel anything?

Darkness . . .

It's cold.

The snow,

The sleighing,

Having fun.

But it's dark,

Frosty,

I'm shivering,

Hands numbing.

Finally, death.

Why can't I feel anything?
