1 - Friends forever

You sit across the table from your best friend as he munches on his fries. You admire the way his lips pout as he chews—one of his many adorable habits.

"Hey." He stops chewing and nods his head to get your attention, before opening his mouth to show his chewed up food like the idiot he is.

"Ew Tae!" You squeeze your eyes shut as he laughs to himself.

"That's for staring."

You roll your eyes and mimic the way he chews. "Not my fault you chew food like a 5 year old."

"I know. I'm cute." He cups his cheeks and bats his lashes.

And there it is. He never fails to make your heart flutter. Even doing the stupidest shit. After years of friendship with Taehyung you've developed feelings for him, and you think he might actually feel the same about you. That's why you took him to his favorite restaurant today.

This is your chance to confess.

You absentmindedly snack on the fries while deep in thought, dipping several at a time into the ketchup and surely making a mess.

"Y/n." He stifles his laugh and casually swipes his thumb over the corner of your mouth and licks it clean. "You missed some." He raises his eyebrows and leans back in the booth. You sit there frozen, your heart beating out of your chest at this small action.

His phone dings and he smiles. "Y/n I have a surprise."

"A-actually Tae there's something I—"

"Hey baby sorry I'm late!" A girl slides next to him in the booth and kisses his cheek as his face lights up.

"I'm just glad you're here. This is my friend y/n I wanted you to meet." He looks back at you with a genuine smile and you do your best to hide your shock.

"Hi y/n!" God her voice is so pretty and smooth. She's perfect and you can't help but feel insecure in her presence. "I love your hair oh my gosh! You'll have to teach me how you styled it." Great, she's nice too?

You notice Taehyung's fingers playing with the ends of her hair.

"O-oh um yeah. It's easy really actually. I just use a-"

"Babe you look gorgeous no matter how you style your hair." Taehyung kisses her cheek and your heart sinks to your stomach. So that's it huh? Friends forever.

You watch as the two are completely distracted by the other, and you immediately feel like a third wheel.

"Hey I just remembered I'm meeting someone, so I've got to head out. So nice to meet you!" You hurriedly excuse yourself before your emotions get the best of you. Turning the corner, you bump into a figure.

"Oh sorry..." You don't even look up but keep your eyes on the floor and keep moving.

"Wait y/n?" The familiar voice follows.

"Are you okay? Weren't you just with Taehyung?" You stop in your tracks and glare at him.

"Jimin I'm fine I just need to leave." You plead quietly with glossy eyes. Jimin used to be close with you, until he had a complete personality 180 and started hanging with a rougher crowd. His wardrobe consisted entirely of leather jackets and chunky boots now to match his attitude.

"Jimin please just let me go." You try to shrug him off but he stops you.

"Aw come on y/n. You know you can still tell me anything?" He raises an eyebrow arrogantly and you glare.

"Wait. Don't tell me. You like Taehyu-mmphm"

"Shhh!" You slap your hand over his mouth, pushing him back against the wall. "Will you shut up??"

"Well if you wanted me up against a wall you could've just asked." He smirks, gripping your wrist and pulling your hand away from his mouth, simultaneously pulling your body closer and looking you up and down.

"But hate to break it to you...your little crush has a girlfriend y/n." He tilts his head, amused. Is he mocking you? This fuckboy attitude doesn't suit him. You miss the old Jimin. You try to wiggle free but he only pulls you closer, his other arm finding your waist.

"Jimin." You deadpan.

"Mhm I see..." He glances briefly to the side where Taehyung appears with his girlfriend at the end of the hall. "I have an idea y/n...Do you trust me?"

"Wha-"

"Just follow my lead." And with that he hugs his arms around your waist and twirls you off the ground, kissing your cheek.

"There you are baby! I missed you so much."
