15th Chapter "At the Airport"

Keith(Dad)'s POV

I was working at the front counter when I saw my baby girl again. When she stopped walking and just stood still I acted like I didn't see. I also acted like I didn't recognize her.

When she finally walked up to the counter I greeted her like I would greet any other customer that came to the ticket counter. She finally spoke asking when a certain flight came in, I answered her question without looking on the computer because I just sent an old couple to that flight. She didn't know how this airport worked because it's not the same building concept as the one where she lives and I used to work at. I told her I would take her to baggage claim so she wouldn't get lost going to it and coming back. I went to the back hoping she would follow me, I went in my office and I started hearing Rich; my co-worker; talking everytime he paused I heard a slight whisper of a girls voice. I guessed it was her's 'cause she was always a soft quiet spoken person when she was talkng to a stranger.

So, I walked quietly over to the doorway leading to the offices to get a good listen on what was happening. Technically I wasn't eavsdropping because two of my other co-workers were listening in also. When Rick said, "Yeah, all the time, he keeps telling us stuff about each of you. Stuff from when ya'll were babies till he last saw you. But, uh, you don't exactly match the description he told us about you, you look more bad ass then innocent." He was looking her up and down but she didn't notice because she had her head down.

So I did what I think any father would do I stepped in and said, "Rick, why are you hitting on my baby girl? I mean I know shes cuter then in the photos I have of her but I'm sure she doesn't want to date anyone yet. Right, Sweet Pea?" She was quiet so I asked her again, she answered the question that time. But she said she had a boyfriend. Once she said boy I was shocked.

I changed the subject back to her friend that she's supposed to be picking up. She got a text message right after she told me that her friend was going to send her one when she was ready to leave. We walked all the way to baggage claim without speaking to each other. When she saw her friend she ran towards her hugged her for awhile. They walked towards me with giant grins on their faces, I guess their really close if their both smilingly like crazy. When we got to the main doors she sent her friend towards the bus; I know it's a bus because they dropped Rebekah off at the door and I saw.

Bekah faced me and asked if her friends and her could spend chrismas and New Years with me. I told her she could come over anytime the door would always be open for her and her friends.
