"Great catch, Riverstorm!" Lionpelt praised as Riverstorm tore the sparrow from the sky. She stood proudly over her kill, purring happily.

"I know." She admitted and turned back to the hunting patrol. "No prey escapes my claws." She held her head happily. She was leading the patrol, behind her she had Lionpelt, Graypelt, Cloverfoot, Rainsong and Mousetail. Even though she had only been a warrior for two and a half moons she was leading patrols constantly. Goldenstar trusts me to get them done. Riverstorm thought proudly.

"Let's continue." Riverstorm ordered after burying her kill. Newleaf was in full swing and the forest was full of prey just waiting to get in AshClan bellies. AshClan is stronger than ever. She boasted to herself. It's strong warriors like me that keep AshClan as powerful as it is. AshClan was one of the largest Clans in the forest, full of strong warriors.
Their apprentice den was empty, but Featherkit was nearing his apprentice ceremony as was Petalkit and Leafkit. Riverstorm was dying to have one of them as her apprentice, she wanted to raise an apprentice to be just as strong as she was. Riverstorm had no intention nor desire to have kits of her own, but she was dying to train a young apprentice.

Riverstorm led the patrol towards the SunClan border, Mousetail managed to catch a shrew, but as they neared the border, Riverstorm picked up something strange. Her nose twitched as she was overcome with the scent of SunClan. Are they crossing the border? Riverstorm padded up to the border and breathed in the scent.

"The scent of SunClan is really strong." Riverstorm pointed out.

"It would hope so," Lionpelt mewed. "This is the SunClan border."

"I know that, stupid." Riverstorm lashed her tail. "But it's stronger than usual." She explained. "Is SunClan trying to send a message?"

"You sound just as paranoid as my mother." Lionpelt shook his head. "So they're border is a little stronger than usual. SunClan hasn't given us any reason to think they might attack us."

"But it could become something more." Riverstorm argued. "I need to tell Goldenstar."

Lionpelt sighed. "Do what you want, but I know my mother and this will probably turn into a fight that doesn't need to happen." The golden tabby tom vanished into the trees with a huff, Rainsong quickly following him.

"You really think SunClan is going to try something?" Graypelt questioned.

"SunClan has never had their border this strong before." Riverstorm explained. "It has to mean something."

"This is troubling to say the least." Goldenstar mewed, listening intently to Riverstorm's report. "SunClan is clearly trying to send a message." Riverstorm listened eagerly, glad that Goldenstar understood.

"Are you sure, Goldenstar?" Ivyheart spoke up. "SunClan hasn't given us any reason to think they might attack."

"Until now." Goldenstar's voice was low. "SunClan lost one of their well respected warriors as well as two kits during leaf-bare. They could be wanting to show off their strength." Goldenstar rose to her paws. "But I won't let that happen. Peace has gone on long enough, we can't have any cat thinking they can test AshClan's borders."

Riverstorm stood up with their leader. "What are we going to do?" She questioned.

"We're going to show SunClan to respect the borders more." Goldenstar lashed her tail and stepped out of the den. Ivyheart cast an uneasy glance at Riverstorm who promptly ignored the deputy. Goldenstar is right. AshClan must prove their strength. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather for a Clan meeting!" Goldenstar raised her voice above the trees, Riverstorm sat down not far from her leader, she felt envious of Ivyheart. I would make a better deputy than her. Riverstorm thought. I would never question Goldenstar.
