Carmen Lestrange got up from her bed and walked over to her closet, stepping over the books all over the ground. 'first day at Hogwarts, mum will kill me if I don't pick something that shows I'm a pureblood' she thought as she looked in her closet. She started grabbing things and throwing them on the ground if she didn't like them and finally she decided to wear a black jumper and a white skirt along with a pair of black tights.
After putting on her outfit she walked out of her room. She walked down her marble steps, heading toward her kitchen to get one of the house elves to make her some scrambled eggs to eat before she had to go to the Hogwarts Platform.
"Zarbeyyy!" She yelled from outside of the kitchen and one of the elves stopped what they were doing and came to her. "Yes missus Carmen?" Zarbey said bowing to her. "Can I have some scrambled eggs before I leave for school?" She asked him with a soft smile. "Of course!" Zarbey said before running into the kitchen to make the scrambled eggs.
Another one of her house elves, Zeeley came out of the kitchen a minute later with her scrambled eggs. Zeeley handed her the eggs and bowed to her. "Thank you Zeeley." Carmen said patting the elfs' head. "You're very welcome, and if Zeeley must say, missus looks absolutely beautiful today." Zeeley said before going back into the kitchen. Carmen smiled at the elf and went to the table to eat her eggs.
A few minutes later Carmen finished and got up leaving the plate on the table. She ran up to her room and grabbed her Hogwarts trunk then walked back down stairs. "Zarbey! I'm ready for you to take me to the platform!" She called for the elf. Zarbey came out of the kitchen and went to Carmen. Zarbey apparated them to the platform 9¾.
Carmen smiles at the elf, "thank you Zarbey, tell Zeeley I will miss her and I'll miss you too." She says before the elf nods and disappears. Carmen sighed and ran onto the platform, closing her eyes. Once she figured she was at the platform she opened her eyes and looked around, she spotted a group of red heads. The Weasleys. Two of them were totally ignoring their mother and looked at her whispering to each other. She finally decided to get on the train and find a place to sit.
She walked around for a bit before she found her cousin, Draco in a compartment with their cousin Ares Black, his sister Alli Malfoy, and Allis' best friend Ellie Potter. She walked into the compartment and sat down by Draco. "Poor Carmen, has to sit by Draco." Alli said, smirking at Draco who started glaring at her. "So, Ellie where is your brother?" Ares asked trying to keep Alli and Draco from killing each other on the first day. "Somewhere with a boy named Ron and a girl named Hermione, they're both first years just like us." Ellie said referring to her, Alli, Carmen and Draco. Ares was 2 years older then all of them and was the best friend of the two biggest pranksters in school, Fred and George Weasley. "Oh cool, anyways bye kiddos." Ares teases, "I'm going to search the train for Fred and George. Cmon Carmen you're coming with me." Ares says pulling Carmen out the door. Carmen rolls her eyes and follows Ares around the train.
She finally spots a train car with a few girls in it and ducks into the car. She sighs and turns around to see all the girls staring at her. "Not to be rude but who are you?" One of the girls asks her. Carmen scoffs quietly and looks at the girls. "I'm Carmen, Carmen Lestrange." She says leaning against the car door. "I'm Naomi Diggory, this is my sister Arabella, and our friend Luna Lovegood." Naomi says smiling at her.
Carmen gives her a small smile as the car door flies open. Ares, Fred, and George stand in the doorway. "Well hello." Ares says smirking at Arabella who looks at Naomi and laughs. Carmen stands up and swats Ares. "What do you want Ares?" She asks rolling her eyes. "Well, my dear cousin, you were supposed to be following me to find my buddies here, but you weren't there." He says. "So, we decided to come find you." Fred says with a grin on his face. "To make sure nothing happened to you." George finishes, leaning on Fred. "Well as you can see I'm just fine." Carmen says glaring at the boys. "Feisty I like her." Fred says and the Naomi girl stands up and walks over to him. "You want to say that again Freddie?" She says sarcastically. Fred looks at her and laughs, "I'm kidding love, obviously." He says kissing Naomis cheek before walking out of the car with George and Ares following him.
"Boys are strange." Luna says after they leave, and all the girls nod in agreement. Naomi looks out the window, "We're getting close to the school we better put our robes on." She says and they all stand up and put their robes on. Carmen looks at them all and Naomi is in a Hufflepuff robe, Luna and Arabella must be first years as well.
They arrive at the school and they all part ways. Arabella goes with Carmen to the boats and end up in a boat with Ron Weasley, Harry Potter, and Hermione Granger. "Hi! I'm Hermione Granger!" the girl says smiling at Carmen. "Sorry, I don't associate with mudbloods." Carmen says rolling her eyes and looking out at the water. Harry glares at her and the three turn and talk by themselves until they reach the stairs and everyone gets off the boats and walk up the stairs.
Once up the stairs they are greeted by an old women with gray hair, wearing a long red colored robe. "Welcome to Hogwarts" said the women. "The start-of-term banquet will begin shortly, but before you take your seats in the Great Hall, you will be sorted into your houses. The Sorting is a very important ceremony because, while you are here, your house will be something like your family within Hogwarts. You will have classes with the rest of your house, sleep in your house dormitory and spend free time in your house common room." Carmen looks around at the rest of the first years while she's talking. "There are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Each house has its own noble history and each has produced outstanding witches and wizards. While you are at Hogwarts, your triumphs will earn your house points, while any rule-breaking will lose house points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the House Cup, a great honour. I hope each of you will be a credit to whichever house becomes yours." The women finished and the first years started quietly whispering to each other.
"Now, follow me to the great hall." She told them and they all followed her in two lines. Carmen was between Arabella and Draco. Once they all got in the great hall the professor opened a scroll and started calling out names. "Blake Lovegood!" She called and boy with shaggy black hair and freckles walked up to the front of the room with a smirk on his face, the hat had barely touched his head and it shouted "SLYTHERIN!" the boy walked over to the cheering Slytherin table and sat down. "Luna Lovegood!" The professor called, they must have been twins. 'hm luna didn't mention having a brother when they met' Carmen thought to herself then shrugged.
Many minutes had passed and the professor had called everyone Carmen knew, Draco and Alli got put in Slytherin, while Ellie and Arabella got Gryffindor along with Harry, Ron, and Hermione. "Carmen Lestrange!" she called and Carmen walked confidently up to the front of the room and sat down, letting the professor set the hat on her head. A minute later after the hat finished debating wether to put her in Gryffindor or Slytherin it finally decided, "SLYTHERIN!" the hat yelled and Carmen let out a sigh of relief as she walked over to the cheering table and sat by the Blake boy who looked at her and smirked.
