5 - Suspicious

"Where are you going?" I ask Jayun as she stands up when Ms. Lee dismisses us for lunch. 

"I-I didn't pack a lunch today, so I'm going to eat in the cafeteria," she stutters. She gives me a soft smile then quickly leaves the classroom.

I watch her as she links arms with another girl I've never seen before. She immediately starts giggling with her. 

I find it quite weird how she was acting so awkward right now. I'm wondering if there's something she isn't telling me. Too bad she left, I was going to interrogate her. 

Whatever, I've eaten lunch alone before... well I haven't eaten lunch alone ever really. I've always had Yuni beside me. It's feeling so lonely without her.

I decide to text her.

Me: "Yuniya~ I miss you. I have to eat lunch alone :("

Typing...

Then it stops. I'm waiting for Yuni to reply, but after a couple of minutes, I don't get a response back. Weird. Me and Yuni always reply fast whenever we text. To see that she was typing but then stop caught me off guard. 

You know what, maybe she forgot to hit send. Happened to me a couple of times. Why over think it? 

I take out my lunch that consisted of rice, dumplings, pickled vegetables, and jap chae. Mother never disappoints really.

As I start to eat , a couple of dudes who aren't from my class stand by the doorway and wave. I look at them and then turn around to see Jungwon waving and smiling at them. His buddies.

One of his friends starts walking into the classroom. I don't mind him. It seems like they're just picking Jungwon up to go eat.

"Aren't you the infamous Kim Sunni who fought with Kim Daehyun?" 

I look up at this dude who's smirking at me. I try to remember who Jayun said who he is, but his name isn't clicking. 

I just nod with my cheeks stuffed with food.

"Now that's what's up!" He says in English and puts his hand up for a high-five.

"I'm Jaeyun, but you can call me Jake," he says as we high-five. 

He continues to smile as he introduces himself. Finally someone with positive vibes! I'm living for it.

He looks at me and looks around the practically empty classroom, "Why are you here by yourself?" he asks me and at that moment Jungwon approaches.

He looks at me then at Jake, "Ready? Lets go." Jungwon pats his shoulder and starts walking but Jake stops him.

"Why don't we invite Sunni to eat with us?" 

Me and Jungwon are shocked by his sudden suggestion. 

"Hyung, why-"

"I would love to!" I say excitedly. I start to pack my lunch box and put it in my lunch bag. "I haven't seen the cafeteria yet so this would be fun!"

As Jake smiles at me, Jungwon is glaring at me. I know he hates it, but that's why I love it!

Me and another buddy of Jungwon, Heeseung, first sit down at a round table that would be able to fit all of us. Several people made their way to look at us and even whisper to whoever is next to them. These boys are really kings here huh.

Just like me, Heeseung brought his own lunch box. 

I take the opportunity to look around to see if I spot Jayun.
