Chapter 1: Myrtle

(Y/n) POV

I woke up to a pigeon pecking at some of the bread crumbs on the bench I was sleeping on. I checked the time to see it was 7:30, who needs alarm clocks when you have a pigeon, right. Damn pigeon. I could have gotten another hour of sleep.

Seeing no point in going to sleep for another hour I start to get really to tackle the big day ahead of me.

I pull an outfit from my suitcase that's professional but also casual. I get out a grey sweater pair with dark wash skinny jeans. I put on a scarf that's has colors like orange, yellow, red, and brown. To bring the professionalism I pair my outfit with a black blazer to go over the sweater.

Once I am dressed I grab my things and start looking for a job. Since it's only 8:15 a few places might not be open but I guess I'll have to get to those places later.

I first go to a Best Buy and turn in my application, after that I go to several more places like McDonald's, Chick-fil-a, a bakery, Old Navy, Bath and Body Works, and Hobby Lobby. Since it was around 5 when I was done I started to head home aka the bench with the damn pigeon.

However on my way back I saw two places I would love to work at. One was a pet store called Wings, Claws, & Paws. (A/N: Get it Wings...as in the album...yeah, okay.)

Wings, Claws, & Paws was a pet store that housed several types of animal from bunnies to cats to lizards to birds. The sign in the door even said that they have another location further away from the city that had horses, cows, and other farm animal like that.

Upon seeing all the earth-shatteringly-cute, animals I raced into the store to give an application. When infact I was hired on spot so I didn't need to run in like a crazy maniac.

You might be wondering what the second store I saw was, well it was a cozy little place called The Most Beautiful Moment In Life: Cats. I find it to be a rather long name for a cat cafe but whatever. I slowly walked into the cafe trying not to scare all the free roaming kitties.

I went up to the front desk lady and asked if they were hiring.

" Yes, we are hiring, I'll hire you right now however I'm sure you know you can only work part time, since your 14 ". She answered.

So, might have told all the places I went to a little white lie that I was 14...what, it's the age limit to be able to work and I need to work.

I thanked the lady and left the shop after taking a business card. As I was walking home I looked at the business cards of the cat cafe and the pet store. I noticed the cards had the same phone number and that the ladies names on the cards had the same last name, Kim.

" Maybe the shop owners are sisters and combined to make one big company. That would make sense since the stores are right next to each other. " I mumbled to myself.

Without looking at the cards you never would have known they ships were connected. Wings, Claws, & Paws was light on the inside. Pastel colors like yellow, lilac, periwinkle, and baby pink were everywhere.

The Most Beautiful Moment Of Life: Cats, on the other had had a rather dark aura. Not like a creepy, imma murder you in a closet, type of dark aura. But more like, having a freshly made cup of coffee while reading your favorite book, kind of dark. I guess the word I'm looking for is cozy, the cafe is really cozy with all the dark browns. The metal chairs and wood walls make the place feel like a home away from home.
