Chapter 11: Are We Out Of The Woods

Author Pov

It was 3:52 in the morning and all was quiet. The previously rambunctious and full of energy house that housed 5 boys was all quiet. Not a penguin nor a bunny were awake. The bear and fox were both in their burrows in a deep sleep. The squirrel had collected its nuts and slept curled up in its tree. All were alseep, deep in their slumber, however one was suffering while they were all the dumber.

She twisted and turned, sweating profusely, with muscles moving loosely. She let out a small cry, begging for help; and the penguin awoke upon hearing the yelp.

He looked to his side seeing her struggle, then pulled her in for a warm, gentle, snuggle.

She now lay awake wrapped up in his hugs, feeling as snug as a bug under several, several rugs.

(A/N: lol just thought I'd add a bit pizazz for no reason)

"H-Hyuka...?"

"(Y/n)." He whispered.

".....p-please don't let g-go..." She let out with a slightly strained voice.

He pulled her to his chest and held her tighter, protecting her from all that might so much as look at her wrong.

He gently kissed the top of her head, "I got you, and I won't ever let go. I promise, I'll always be here for you. No matter what. Always, okay doll?"

She nodded and hugged him as they let silence fall over them. Slowly (y/n)'s eyes once again fell closed but this time without furrowed eye brows on top.

Kai looked down at her peaceful face only imagining what was happening in her brain to cause such an occurrence. Having been filled in by his Yoongi hyung -along with the rest of TXT- how young (y/n)'s life had been dealing her some pretty dirty cards he couldn't help but wonder how she was even still standing.

Looking at her one last time Kai let his eyes fall closed and his breathing soon fell in sync with (y/n)'s as they both went back to sleep.

(Y/n) awoke to hear the soft pitter patter of the shower from within that bathroom attached to Kai's room accompanied but light singing.

She gently got up from the bed and rubbed her puffy eyes while thinking back on the rough night. Smiling softly at how her oppa hadn't been the least bit annoyed or mad at her crys but instead been nurturing and reassured her.

She briefly glanced at the windows that remained covered by the curtains as Kai probably didn't want the sunlight to wake her. (Y/n) then stood at walked to the window, making a slight opening just large enough for her to look through. It was fairly bright outside so it took a minute for her eyes to adjust from the dimly lit room. After a few moments of squinting she was shocked to see a forest in the near distance, not expecting there to be such greenery near a mansion like this.

Her eyes followed a eagle that elegantly flew in the sky then dropped into the trees only to emerge later with a few mixture baby eagles following close behind, seemingly taking flight for the first time.

"I know it's real I can feEeeEeEl it" (y/n) snapped out of her dazed and giggled slighty at Kai's voice crack while singing. She turned away from the window and her eye caught on a opened tan notebook filled to the brim with lyrics and side notes.

She briefly glanced at the bathroom door contemplating on whether or not Kai would mind her snooping. Letting the curiosity get the best of her she approached the desk that had the notebook on top.
