"So you're telling me that Jeongguk called Madeleine a bitch?"

It is the next day at school that Taehyung gets to share the details of the mind-boggling event that has very much tilted his world on its axis with Yoongi.

They are currently heading to gym class, just freshly emerged out of the locker room decked in their sports uniforms.

Although originally wanting to just blab to Yoongi about it the second he'd lay his eyes on him, Taehyung had to wait until now because, for some reason, Yoongi had arrived to homeroom late today. He later explained his tardiness by telling Taehyung about this out-of-the-world pancakes his new roommate had made today for breakfast, and he swears he would have entirely chucked school in favor of eating them the whole day if not for the thought of Taehyung being utterly lonely due to his absence.

Well, Yoongi's kind, ain't he?

Taehyung wants to hit him; wants to tell him that there are far greater, earth-shattering discoveries that have been made rather than realizing that his roommate is quite well-versed in the culinary arts.

Taking this incident as proof of how his friend has a hard time prioritizing stuff, Taehyung had told him all about yesterday the minute he had gotten him alone.

The reaction he got—which was kind of a one-statement summary of the incident—was lukewarm.

Yes, Yoongi did seem to be confused regarding it as well — just not as much as Taehyung has been since yesterday afternoon. It also doesn't look like he has had his mind blown, which would again be in serious contradiction of what Taehyung's been feeling.

While he is vehemently questioning Yoongi's complacency regarding this fiasco, he is also able to absorb the slight emphasis the other has made in his statement. Naturally, he grimaces at Yoongi's repetition of the word out loud, especially when he, himself, had preferred to say the term 'female dog' instead of the original during his retelling of the incident.

"A nasty one at that." Taehyung thinks it necessary to add; maybe now Yoongi would give a proper reaction of utter astonishment and slight concern.

But all he does is shrug, still walking ahead with a straight face. "So what?" he says, "The guy knows a few swear words. Big deal. Knowing his company, I wouldn't have put that past him anyway."

Taehyung is instantly triggered. "My Jeongguk does not swear. He's a pure angel." He all but huffs in absolute confidence.

Yoongi halts in his step, cocking an eyebrow at his friend. "Your Jeongguk?" Taehyung immediately goes red, his eyes flitting everywhere as he coughs out, "I meant Jeon Jeongguk."

He hears Yoongi chuckle before he resumes his pace to keep up with the rest of the crowd around them, and Taehyung can only follow suit. "Are you seriously going to act like this?" He tries not to yell out the words since he does not want his whole class to notice him freaking out like this.

"Act like what?" Like this, ignorant and carefree, Taehyung wants to say, but decides to quote Yoongi's own words. "Like Jeon Jeongguk swearing at people is a regular occurrence; like it is not a big deal." Yoongi is directly looking at him now, and that gives him enough encouragement to continue. "Tell me: when have you ever heard or seen Jeongguk act out of line, regardless of the company he has kept? Ever even heard a rumor of him picking a fight with anyone or acting in a way that was less than polite? Huh?"

Yoongi stares at him for a couple of seconds before releasing a huge sigh and whispering, "I did not think it'd matter this much to you." He then proceeds to take him by his shoulders in a way that their bodies are facing each other. "Have you pondered the possibility of you just hearing things?"
