"I'm Katie Killjoy, live at the scene of a recent crash near the studio where actor Angel Dust decided to cut one of his scenes to discover what happened to Cassie, the designer." Angel looked at the wreckage in horror, his anxiety rising. He couldn't believe the extent of the damage caused by the crash, with debris scattered everywhere and vehicles mangled beyond recognition. As Angel's heart raced, he couldn't help but wonder if Cassie had been caught in the chaos and if she was safe.
"Nooo...no, no, no! Cassie!!" Angel cried out in anguish, his voice echoing through the wreckage. He frantically searched for any sign of Cassie, praying that she had somehow managed to escape unharmed. The fear of losing his dear friend weighed heavily on his mind as he desperately called out her name, hoping for a response amidst the chaos.
Although Angel had been told to stay back from the demons investigating the accident scene, he pulled the door off the wreck. With adrenaline coursing through his veins, Angel's determination to find Cassie overrode any concern for his own safety. He knew he had to do everything in his power to ensure her well-being, even if it meant defying orders and risking his own life.
"I know her; get lost!". Angel shouted at the demons, his voice filled with a mix of anger and desperation. He couldn't let anyone stand in his way, not when Cassie's life was on the line.
In his final attempt to locate her, Angel told the demons trying to stop him as he shoved his way through them and ran to where his friend was. As he sprinted towards his destination, Angel's heart pounded in his chest, fueled by a potent cocktail of determination and fear. Every fibre of his being screamed at him to reach Cassie before it was too late, and he pushed himself beyond his limits, ignoring the burning pain in his muscles.
"Come on, Cass, where are you? Aw, fudge." While Cassie's parents' fate flickered in his eyes, he already knew they were gone. His thinking then turned to helping her out of the car, then holding her close, thinking she was also gone. "no.." His trembling hands fumbled with the car door, desperately trying to free Cassie from the wreckage. The sight of her motionless body sent a surge of despair through him, but he refused to give up hope.
Her voice sounded weak as he hesitated to hold her close. "Angel..." Cassie whispered, her voice barely audible. "I'm still here; don't leave me." He could hear the pain and fear in her voice, fueling his determination to keep fighting for her survival.
"Cassie! I'm glad you're okay, but your parents...not so much. You should've invited me to dinner, then this wouldn't have happened." He tried to inject a hint of humour into his words, hoping to lighten the heavy atmosphere. But deep down, he couldn't shake off the guilt that gnawed at him for not being there to protect her.
"Don't blame yourself!" Cassie began to speak with a weak and pained voice. "Once Dad saw some guys, he began acting strangely. He wanted to take this route... He insisted that it was a shortcut, but I had a bad feeling about it. I should have spoken up and insisted on a different route, but I didn't want to argue with him." Cassie's voice trailed off, filled with regret. Trying not to cry, she held back her tears.
"I want to make sure you're okay, so let's hurry up and get you to the hospital! Please don't scare me like that!" Angel hugged her closer, picking her up sadly and looking at the wreckage of the car. The sound of sirens grew louder as emergency vehicles approached. Cassie couldn't help but wonder if things would have turned out differently if she had trusted her instincts and spoken up earlier.
"Cass, I'm sorry..." Angel whispered, his voice filled with guilt. Cassie could see the pain in his eyes as he looked at her bruised and battered body. She knew he blamed himself for the accident, but she also knew that she couldn't bear to see him burdened with that guilt.
After a few minutes of thinking about all of this, he began walking towards the nearest hospital, sighing quietly and working to hold back tears as he did so. Despite the protests of the paramedics, Angel wanted to be the one to look after Cassie. He couldn't shake off the feeling of responsibility, as if he had failed to protect her. As he walked, memories of their laughter and shared moments flooded his mind, making the weight of guilt even heavier.
"Cass, I won't leave you on your own. I've got your back from now on, and I'm not going to let you down." Angel's determination grew stronger with each step, fueled by his love for Cassie and his unwavering loyalty. He knew that he had to be there for her, to support her through this difficult time and ensure her safety. As he reached the hospital doors, he took a deep breath, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead, knowing that he would do whatever it took to protect the person who meant everything to him.
Cass gently cuddled him, in and out of consciousness, as she fought against the pain and exhaustion that consumed her. Angel held her tightly, whispering words of encouragement and promising to never leave her side. He knew that their love would give them the strength to overcome any obstacle, and together they would face whatever came their way. He held her hand as doctors took her away to examine her, feeling a mix of fear and hope coursing through his veins. He couldn't bear the thought of losing her, but he trusted the medical team to do everything they could to help her. As he watched her being wheeled away, he silently vowed to be there for her every step of the way, ready to support and protect her no matter what.
"I promise you that!" He whispered to himself, his voice filled with determination. With tears in his eyes, he took a deep breath and prepared himself for the uncertain journey ahead.
