Ellie's eyes grew weak and weary, no matter how hard she tried to pry them open, she was weak, every muscle in her body ached, and her lips were chapped and her tongue grew dry.
"What are we supposed to do with the girl?" Faint voices were hushed from afar
"She's one of us, even if we are not in the same tribe, we are all one. She was running from something."
Ellie's head pounded with ache, she reached her hand up to her eyes and tried to sit up ignoring the sharp pain on her neck.
"You shouldn't move" her head turned to see a man quite older spoke "it would hurt even more."
He moved toward her carefully and slowly, as her eyes adjusted to the bright sun coming in from the bug glass windows behind her.
The man took a seat upon the coffee table in front of of where she sat on the sofa bed and she carefully looked into his hand.
"Celestic, Alpha" his grey eyes reached into her deep blues as he held the charm in his hand "This you dad's?"
She breathed in deeply as she softly shook her head, the man had confusion spread across his face.
"It's mine."
"You lie"
"I'm not"
The bearded man pursed his lips together with impatience as he looked into her eyes again. She winced at the pain from the bite one her neck.
"Why didn't you turn? When the rogues were after you. -What were you running from or better question -who?"
Her head dropped as she softly touched the fabric on her neck
"I haven't turned, the elder of our tribe pronounced me Alpha -it was supposed to be my brother. I don't understand either."
His eyebrows knitted together as he spoke more questions
"But you're female, I-I" his words stop "how old are you?"
"What day is it?"
"Saturday."
"17"
The man stood up and thought about her for a moment, wondering why in hell was she alpha?
She must be great, she must be powerful, I smelt her power when Calum brought her in he thought
"I'm Richard, you're in gorge falls, kayan territory. Your far from home huh?"
"Ellie, and -I don't have a home, well I did -but I-I can't go back"
Richard's facial expressions softened, he felt compassion and deep sadness for the girl, he knew he was pushing her for answers but she needed guidance.
"Where is you mother?"
"Dead"
"Father?"
"Wanted me gone since she died."
Ellie stayed put in her seat as she didn't dare look him in the eyes, he'll was she scared but she needed a place, anywhere to be far from home, her heart ached as she remembered Michael and his laugh, Luke with his charm and -
"Why did you leave?"
"I-I was better off."
Richard nodded his head as he paced around he room, his eyes looked out his window as he saw his kids out on his front lawn, then looked at Ellie. He crossed his arms together as he breathed in deeply.
"You have no home, no knowledge, and no one to count on, it is in wearwolf nature to take in any of our kind, no matter of what tribe. When the time is right, you will be a member of my trib."
-
"I don't understand, rogues don't go for people like me, they never have." Ellie kept her pace as her and Richard walked along the trail, she was curious, yet she was shy, she had no idea why she was acting so obnoxious.
"It's something to do with your transformation, -and they're rogues; they kill anything wolf. The-"
"When would I be able to transform? Into a, you know" Again, Ellie didn't mean her rudeness, or how she kept interrupting or fidgeting in her spot but she couldn't help it, she was exploding in feelings.
"There will be a full moon tomorrow, try then, and if not, it's something greater." Richard stuffed his hands in his jeans as he rumbled through the leaves with his work boots.
"Dad!" A boy who looked familiarly similar to Richard came running towards the two, he was around Ellie's age by the looks of it and his hair was poofy with his dark brown eyes to match.
"Ellie I didn't properly introduce you to my family, this is Calum, he was the one who found you in the woods."
Calum gave her a hard look, his lips formed a thin line as he simply nodded towards her as if it were no big deal. Ellie thanked him quietly as he crossed his arms together.
"When do you want me to take her back?" Calum spoke up as he began to roll up his sleeves
"That wouldn't be necessary"
"Yes dad, but she has no use here, she cannot even shift into a wo-" before he could finish his sentence Richard gave him a shove, he tumbled backwards but not enough to make him fall.
Ellie's eyes flickered at his structure, he was intimidating I could give you that but he was also a dick.
"She has no home Calum, show respect."
Calum looked down at Ellie as he gave her a sarcastic smirk as he rolled his eyes.
"How's the battle wound?" Calum snickered as his dad once again grabbed his arm excusing the both of them.
Ellie reached her hand upon the dried up red fabric as she slowly peeled it off her skin, her fingers softly stroked the bite free skin she had thought was damaged.
-she healed.
