PRESENT DAY
Seora's POV
I woke up to the sound of my alarm and immediately got out of bed. Well there's no time to be lazy because I got nobody to support me. What can you expect from an orphan like me?*sighs*. Anyways, I got to keep moving forward even though I'm always unlucky. That's my fate, what can I do about it?
"Sohee, wake up! You'll be late to school if you keep sleeping", I said while tapping the upper arm of my best friend who is also my roommate.
Well, I am actually very grateful that I have atleast one friend. I've always been the outcast one and nobody wants to befriend me because I always bring bad luck. I don't know why but ever since I was in the orphanage, every little thing I do seems wrong. The people around me blamed me because ever since I stayed in there, the orphanage went downhill. Everyday, bad things are happening. I really wanna live like how normal people live and hang-out with a bunch of friends but I think, it'll always stay as a wish that will never come true.
"Yah, Seora, are you daydreaming? You look bothered. Are you okay? " Sohee, my best friend, said.
I was taken aback. I didn't noticed that I was staring blankly at her arms. Probably because the memories of the past hit me. I quickly shook my head and got my senses back
"Oh yeah, I'm okay. I was just... like... thinking about something. Nothing to worry about", I said flashing a smile to her.
"Okay, whatever. I'll go get ready downstairs.", Sohee spoke but then stopped and went back to sit on the bed right next to me.
"Ah right! How did your job search went? Is it going well?", Sohee asked. I was a bit hesitant to tell her about it but I told her anyways.
"Uhmmm. Same as usual. You know I was never lucky. I was hailed as the "unluckiest" girl in the world so yeah. I think I got a long way ahead but I won't give up. I know that my fate will change soon. I can feel it" I exclaimed giving Sohee a slight smile. Sohee also smiled and said.
"That's the spirit!! I like that. But do you really not want to work on our company? " Sohee asked.
Right, I forgot to tell you. I actually dropped out from school a few years back, maybe 3. The orphanage refused to provide me my needs already which means they also refused to pay for my tuition fee. On top of that, I was forced to leave the orphanage because I was old enough to live by myself. I was really sad upon them throwing me out even when they're very aware that I have nowhere to go. Luckily, I saw Sohee later that night. Well, Sohee was also an orphan like me and she was always the one who defended me from the bullies back in the orphanage. However, she was found by her real family and left the orphanage. Well her family is undeniably rich and quite kind. They allowed me to stay in with Sohee without asking me for rent. I was beyond grateful that they did that. So in order to pay them the kindness they showered me, I insisted to be Sohee's personal maid, assistant, and sidekick.

I was currently looking for a source of income since I recently got fired from the fast-food chain I was working. I've been to a lot of jobs since I was kicked out from the orphanage and I always got fired. That's how unlucky I am. Yesterday, I applied to another fast-food chain and was not accepted. So today, I will go to a cafe which is currently hiring a barista and me, being a courageous worm, is opt for such a challenge even when I know the chances of me getting the job is microscoply small.
On my way to the cafe, I stopped by at a nearby convenience store to eat breakfast. Well, I don't really eat breakfast at Sohee's apartment because I don't wanna be a burden to her so, I often eat breakfast elsewhere if I have money or, I will just hit the day without eating breakfast.
After I ate my breakfast, which was just a sandwich, I went outside the convenience store to find something to ride. I took my wallet and counted the money that I have and decided to not continue the plan about finding something to ride. I walked my way to the cafe when I saw a boy hinding behind the corner of the alley. He seemed like running from someone so I thought I have to help him. The thoughts of my past hit me and I immediately shrugged off the plan of helping him. I walked straight not minding about the situation and then suddenly a hand pulled me from behind.
"What do you think you're doing? " I said calmly despite the fact that a stranger that can harm me is currently holding my hand. Well, I'm lying if I say he's not handsome. He really is handsome like God really put effort upon making him, his features are so strong. I erased my thoughts when I heard him say something.
"Keep quiet, or else you'll die! " he said.
" What!! I don't even know you so will you please let go of me? " I said trying to calm myself down.
"Just keep quiet, will you? Don't you know that you're in danger now since they saw you here with me. I'm just trying to protect you here mylady" he said sounding hilarious but with his face being serious.
Wow. This guy here is such a flirt. I can't even. But why is he running though? Is he a gang member or a runaway prisoner? No, he doesn't look like it. But why? I don't even know. My mind says to shout for help but my heart demanded otherwise. My heart's telling me to trust this man right here and with that this man actually did make me feel safe in this dangerous situation we're currently in. How ironic. It's just like the feeling I felt when I met a boy at the park when I was younger. How I wish, I'll meet him again because he's the only one who made me happy, the one who made me not to worry about anything, and the one who made me feel lucky even if it's just one day.
