An Eye For An Eye

Prologue

        In the beginning existed two omniscient, omnipotent beings, one of them a man with a firm stature. His eyes over taken by a golden glow to where there were no pupils. His name is Appoloin. The other entity was a gentle looking woman, very slim in her figure with long silver hair and faded white eyes. The woman, known as Sophia, had large white wings that contained what seemed like an eye patter in the middle of each wing. For many many years these two entities battled each other’s ideals. Sophia had the ability to create anything at will. She could bring matter of any kind into existence and form anything she wanted to. Contrary to her ability, Appoloin sought to rule through destruction, as he held the ability to destroy anything by merely just thinking of its destruction. For everything Sophia would create, Appoloin would just destroy and make it into his own, Sophia would retaliate by creating things and protecting them so her adversary couldn’t touch it. These two did share one thing in common though, their powers came from their eyes.

        Fed up with each other and their constant contradictions, Appoloin and Sophia clashed in a battle of creation and destruction. As they continued their fighting the universe formed, filled with the birth of planets, stars, all matter, but at the same time the death of these things as well. Their clash created all universes as they are now. Both of them realizing they were at a stalemate, they came together and decided to work together to ensure the universes survival, as it was both of their responsibilities now. Together every detail came to be, down to the existence of life on planet Earth. The two entities, now lovers, watched over their creations for thousands upon thousands of years. Humans used both creation and destruction to their advantage as they advanced into the now modern civilization. However, troubles began to arise when Sophia and Appoloin began to disagree with each other on how humans have evolved.

        This argument was short as Sophia had become pregnant. Feeling their child would be able to help humans more, as they would have access to both creation and destruction, they decided to allow their child to live amongst humans and help them. This didn’t come without consequences though. When their child was born, a boy they named Cecil, he was born completely blind. The two entities did not understand how that could be, and why he didn’t inherit their eyes, until they realized, their eyes are the only ones in existence of their kind. Wanting their son to be able to inherit their eyes they created a sentient being known as the Circumspectionem, or the all seeing eye, which was a pyramid-like structure that can change its size from pocket, to the size of an actual pyramid.

        They also created a being known as Anonymous, a young man who is to be Cecil’s guardian and watch over his growth. Anonymous was covered in a long black robe and wore a mask similar in appearance to a plague doctors. They explained to Anonymous that they were going to entrust their eyes with him and the Circumspectionem and that Cecil may inherit them when he is ready. They granted Anonymous with a fragment of their powers for safekeeping and sealed the rest within the Circumspectionem. Cecil was sent down to Earth along with Anonymous and the Circumspectionem, as his parents faded away from sealing their energy away, hoping they made the right choice with their son.
