An Eye For An Eye

Chapter two: Sage

Ever since Cecil had gotten a taste of the power he will eventually inherit he practiced day in and day out to hone his creation abilities. Though he could still only create small things, he still worked on his focus and control. Along with his abilities, Cecil also continued to help the people around him, however he eventually began to feel overwhelmed, due to the fact that he couldn't keep up with all the daily troubles that happened. "Anon, I just don't know what to do anymore" Cecil approached Anonymous. "What do you mean?" he replied. "I just feel so stressed out. There's so many things that go on and I just can't do it all on my own, it would be nice if you helped out a bit more" Cecil got a little stern. "Cecil, I'm not the one trying to prove my worth am I? You have to show me maturity and complaining about responsibilities isn't the way to go about doing it. You're grown now Cecil, and you need to start taking action and not rely on abilities or powers, especially from me. This is the best way for you to grow up, and show you are capable." After hearing these words Cecil sighed of frustration and went on his way.

"I can't believe him" Cecil thought to himself, "he's supposed to be like a best friend to me, why does it feel like he doesn't support anything I do?" Cecil sat and pondered to himself, running his fingers through his black hair he tried thinking of some sort of plan to lighten his load. "All I really need is someone to be my eyes for me... That would help so much" Cecil's face lit up as he thought of an idea. "I've been practicing my creating skills maybe I can create someone who can watch the surroundings for me!" The young man had a rush of excitement this, however, died down rather quickly when he realized the reality of his situation "Ugh, I don't have enough of the eyes to be able to create an actual person, and there's no way Anon would allow it, unless he doesn't find out about it."

Later in the evening Cecil crept down to where the Circumspectionem resides. Cautiously he approaches the device, unsure if it's aware of his presence. "No need to be so careful around me Cecil, I see all" it began to speak in a booming voice. "Shhh" Cecil tried to get it to lower its voice, "look I need a favor from you. You see, I need help with work around and everything so I was wondering if you can give me just a little more of the creation ability, enough to create someone to sort of be my eyes for me you know?" he spoke nervously knowing his request was quite far-fetched. "So, you desire assistance." Cecil nodded in reply. "And how exactly would you hide a person created by you from Anonymous?" "Well, I was just going to be honest, maybe if he sees that I can create a functioning human then I truly have honed the creation abilities you know?"

The all seeing-eye thought about it for a minute. "All right, I will allow this only this time." "Thank you, thank you so much" Cecil smiled with much gratitude. Circumspectionem gave off a faint glow and shot a beam not nearly as intense as before, and aimed it towards Cecil. "Is that it?" He spoke a little skeptical. "Yes, now, face the other way so your back is towards me, and focus as you've been practicing" Circumspectionem instructed. Cecil hesitated a little, but gave in nonetheless and did as told. He crossed his fingers and brought the triangle shape made by them up to his right eye and began to focus more than he ever had before. As he did this the device behind him gave off a glow that Cecil didn't notice and slowly a human figure began to materialize before his eyes. At first it was a mere body with nothing to it but slowly detail began being put into it.

A light green pixie cut hairstyle formed on the head of the person. The body shaped into average height, and fair skin. The biggest detail and surprise of the now forming human was that eyes formed all over. Two green eyes where everyone else has eyes, but eyes of various colors also formed on the arms, the body, legs, and hands of the person. Cecil seeing so many eyes began to panic and immediately lost focus. "Oh no, what do I do?! I didn't mean to do this!" but it was too late for the person had already been created. They were clothed in a long robe resembling Cecil's, except for the detail that their robe had eye patterns all over it, they also wore normal looking black boots to match the robe.

As the person fell to the ground they looked around, and examined their surroundings. "Well, this is rather odd" they began to speak in a rather confused tone. They looked up at Cecil and the Circumspectionem "hello there." Cecil, taken aback by what he had just witnessed could only mutter the word "wow". "Wow, is that all you have to say? Boy you're not as exciting as I thought you'd be" "I'm sorry" Cecil caught grips with reality "I just didn't expect this to work, I... I created you" he stammered trying to find the right words to say. "Yeah I know, it feels quite natural truthfully, don't quite know how to describe it though, but hello my creator" the person chuckled finding this all rather humorous. "I am Cecil you didn't come with a name did you?" "Do people ever just come with names?" "Good point" Cecil pondered for a second trying to think of a name for this creation of his. "Well... I would name you... but the thing is... Well... I kind of can't tell... your gender." Cecil spoke with embarrassment. The person merely laughed and shrugged their shoulders "Who knows?" After a minute of thinking Cecil spoke up "Sage! Sage will be your name, seeing as how you're going to serve as my eyes, you'll also be very wise so I feel Sage is a fitting name for you boy or girl" "Sage huh? I can live with that." The person now named Sage gave a reassuring smile.

"Very good Cecil" The Circumspectionem boomed behind him "you truly have become better at controlling your abilities of creation" Cecil hung his head in shame a little "I wish I did, I'm sorry Sage I created you with too many eyes... It must be really weird" "Nah, not really. It's like when anyone finally gains sight, it's just natural. Don't sweat it" Cecil smiled lightly, "so shall we go and test out what we can do together?" Sage nodded and the two walked off.
