April O' Neil took a deep breath as she started walking up to the front door. So much had happened in the last few months. But, the invasion was over and everything was alright again.

She was planning on talking to her father about something. Something she'd never told him before. Something her closet friends knew that he dyed not. She hoped he wouldn't hate her when he found out.

"I just hope he's okay with this...but what if he's not? It's so weird...I'm so weird. He might not see me as his daughter anymore...what if he starts to hate me because of this?"

The redhead sighed, running her hand through her hair. April has been wanting to tell Kirby something. Something big. But she's been been hesitant to do so.

She found out several months ago, back when her father had been kidnapped. But she didn't tell him then because he was still...not fully recovered from being held captive.

She was also planning on telling him one night, but that was the night Kirby had mutated into a bat while trying to keep her safe. He was gone for months until they found him...

She couldn't tell him then either. After his mutation, Kirby started suffering from PTSD. She just couldn't tell him, not when he wasn't emotionally stable. It might've been too much...

Then, right when she was about to tell him, the invasion happened and Kirby was sadly mutates a second time, making everything way worse...April couldn't tell him.

Now, a year later, New York was back to normal, her father was safe and the invasion was over. Everything was okay again. Normal. As normal as it gets around here anyway.

"This is it...you've held off on telling him for a long time, it's time that he finally knows." April said to herself. She was feeling very nervous.

There was another reason she'd held off on telling Kirby for so long. She was worried that he'd see her differently. That he wouldn't understand. That he'd never love her again...she couldn't bear that.

April took a deep breath and forced herself to calm down. She had to do this. She was ready. April opened the door and found her father inside sitting on the couch reading something. "Hi dad." She spoke up.

Kirby slightly jumped at the sudden break of silence. One of his PTSD symptoms was that he was more jumpy. "Oh, hi sweetheart!" Kirby hugged her closely, tightly.

April hugged him with a small smile. "How are you doing?" She asked. He took a deep breath. "Better than before, better than last month, the therapy is helping a little bit."

April smiled a bit. "Good, I'm glad you're getting better...it's still hard sometimes though, isn't it?" Kirby nodded, pulling her close. "It is but...well, enough about me, how are you doing?" He asked casually.

April took a deep breath, pushing her nerves aside. "Good, the turtles, Casey and I along with the rest of the team have been making sure everything stays okay." She grinned a little bit.

"That's good to hear." Kirby smiled a little as well. He looked more calm. So whatever he was doing was definitely helping him cope with his trauma.

April knew she had to tell him now. It's now or never...She thought to herself. "Dad, sit down, there's something I have to tell you." She spoke calmly, confidently.
