Chapter 6: Happy Christmas!

Harry, Hermione, Ron, and I are walking along a path talking with Hagrid.

"Nonsense! Why would Snape put a curse on Harry's broom?" Hagrid asked after Hermione told him about what happened at the match.

"That's what I said!" I sigh.

"Who knows? Why was he trying to get past that three-headed dog on Halloween?" Harry looks up at Hagrid.

Hagrid turns to him suspiciously. "Who told you 'bout Fluffy?"

"Fluffy?"

"That thing has a name?"

"I like the name."

"Thank you, Y/n. And of course he's got a name. He's mine. I bought him off an Irish feller I met down at the pub last year. Then I lent him to Dumbledore to guard the...

"Yes?" Harry tries to prompt him to continue.

"Shouldn't have said that. No more questions! Don't ask any more questions. That's top secret, that is."

"But, Hagrid, whatever Fluffy's guarding, Snape's trying to steal it."

"Codswallop. Professor Snape is a Hogwarts teacher."

"I agree with Hagrid. I don't think that Professor Snape would do that."

"Well, Hogwarts teacher or not, I know a spell when I see one. I've read all about them. You've got to keep eye contact and Snape wasn't blinking."

"Exactly."

"Just listen to Hagrid!"

Hagrid sighs. "Now, you listen to me, all of you. Especially you three." He adds, looking at my friends. "You're meddling in things that ought not to be meddled in. It's dangerous. What that dog is guarding is strictly between Dumbledore and Nicholas Flamel."

Harry turns to Ron then back to Hagrid, "Nicholas Flamel?

"I should not have said that. I should not have said that." Hagrid mumbles to himself. He then leaves, mumbling to himself 'I should have not said that.'

"Nicholas Flamel." Harry turns to Hermione and me, "Who's Nicholas Flamel?"

"I don't know." Hermione shakes her head.

"Nicholas Flamel?" I think for a second and my face lights up. "I'll see you at dinner." I rush off and my friends look after me suspiciously.

It is now Christmas at Hogwarts, I'm sitting in the Great Hall watching Harry and ROn play chess. Hermione walks through the Great Hall entrance with her luggage and wearing a scarf as the ghosts are singing Christmas songs.

Hermione looks from the massive Christmas tree as Flitwick uses his wand to put another ornament on the tree to Harry and Ron as they play chess and walks towards us.

"Knight to E5." The Knight moves to its destination. Hermione walks up behind Harry.

"Queen to E5." Ron says with a smug face. Hermione watches as Ron's queen goes over to Harry's knight and whacks the knight with her chair. Ron grins.

"That's totally barbaric!"

"They've been at this for almost half an hour now. Played like 7 games."

"That's wizard's chess." Ron looks over to Hermione, "See you've packed."

"See, you haven't."

"Change of plans, my parents decided to go to Romania to visit my brother Charlie. He's studying dragons there."
