Tucked away in the Bay of a Thousand Scales resided a family. A family who lived among all the other common-folk SeaWings, homes made out of the colorful coral reefs. A family with big ambitions. A family with secrets and violence. But among it all, there slept a dragonet who had the brightest, most vibrant shiny blue scales.

The water in his room was always chillingly cold, and Ultramarine never knew why. Not like it ever bothered him, he loved how easy it was to keep sleeping in it. It's like a heavy, weighted terrestrial force wrapping him up in a tight eggshell. The cold whispering to him that there's a few more minutes of dreaming left, before the monotonous day ahead...
He curls up a little tighter atop his slimy moss bed, trying to ignore the ever so slight change of the current that signifies his mother approaching. Blegh... He scoots farther away from the reefs edge as he felt her talons land beside him. Ultra peeks an eye open only to see one staring right back at him.
Ultra flinched and jumped out of his bed, smashing his skull on the coral above, 'MOTHER!' he signaled in aquatic. 'Oh come now, Ultra. I'm fully aware you weren't actually resting,' His mother signaled back, now fussing with all the bobbles and lost items he's collected and meticulously organized on his bedroom shelf.
Aaa! She's touching my things again. Ultramarine swims over, gently pulling his mother's purple talons away from his little treasures, 'I'm awake, I'm awake. I didn't miss breakfast, did I?' Ultra turns to look from the outstretching reef side, sun shimmering down to the seabed. 'If you did I'd be far more furious with you,' she scowls, flickering her lights with annoyance. Uh oh.
That right there implies that this will be another one of those business breakfast meetings, Father has them arranged all the time. His parents did it to increase the chances of him and his siblings making it into the Summer Palace, whatever the job may be. It's all about connections. Sitting on the beach, eating and smiling for strangers who had some vague semblance of importance to the royal grounds. Talking and talking and talking... He would usually just pay attention to the breeze and howling leaves in the wind. Pyrrhia was constantly singing, that's something Ultramarine noticed when he was small.
The music of the palm trees helped him listen to the endless droning of high guards and his father's emotionless tone for years.
'Now go find your sister,' His mother flashed, admiring herself in the reflection of the newly broken spear that Ultramarine propped on the wall. It's useless for battle now, but at least his mother found a use for it. 'Only you seem to know where that dragon swims off to. She'll be punished if she's late again to practice, let her know.' The large purple dragon haughtily raising her snout, looking down at him expectantly.
I should just get a move on, mother likes it when I'm quiet after orders. Ultra swims over his mother's tail, giving her a small nod as their eyes meet. Ultra beats his wings, the water stirring across the rocky ledge as he lifted off into the open sea. Ultramarine closes his eyes and spins, shaking sunbeams beat across his saturated blue scales. Alright, another beautiful day in paradise. Now where could Dottyback be?
