 Marie's P.O.V.

"Marie wakey up!" I hear Rose call from the Pack N' Play near my bed.

Without opening my eyes I reply "I'm awake Rose."

"Rose hungry!" She chants and I can tell she has a smile on her face and most likely clutching one of her new toys.

"What does Rose want?" I ask her eyes still closed trying to grasp the last bit of sleep I’ll get for the next week or so since Rose is staying with me while Mason and Lacey go back home.

"Cereal!" She shouts in excitement and I finally force my eyes to open and struggle to keep them that way.

My legs find their way out from under the white duvet covers, my feet touch the shaggy carpet and my eyes meet Rose's causing her to smile.

"I'll be right back." I smile back at her and go into the bathroom; I shut the door most of the way and look at my sleepy looking face in the mirror. I pull my hair up and back into a bun and turn the hot water to the sink on, cupping my hands they catch a handful of the warm water and I splash it on my face. I grab a clean towel nearby and pat dry my face.

"C'mon goober." I say grabbing Rose from the Pack N' Play and resting her on my hip, she clutches a green stuffed animal frog and rests her head on my shoulder and her arms hanging tightly around my neck.

"Stay here Rose." I put her down on a chair and push it in so she doesn’t fall and go over towards the fridge.

"Rose will stay here." She says with a smile causing me to have a small laughing fit at her using 3rd person.

I grab the milk out of the fridge and set it down on the counter, the cabinet hid the cheerios only for me to grab them and pour two bowls, one for me and one for her. I take the little blue plastic bowl with a matching spoon and set it in front of her.

"Mhm nummy." She smiles spooning it into her mouth; I just giggle and eat my own cereal.

"Eat your cereal, I'll be right back!" I tell her hopping out of my chair and gliding over to the door.

"Where's Marie going?" I hear Rose call out to me making me laugh at the way she's talking.

"I'm just getting the mail." I tell her unlocking the three locks on my front door and opening it up to the chill of the snowy weather.

I step out with my bare feet cringing at the touch of the snow and immediately burning a bright red as I stand in it to get the letter I'm always so anxious to receive. The cold envelope begins to warm up in my hand as I go back inside and lock the door up again.

I make my way back to the kitchen to Rose and yawn looking at the microwave clock that reads 6:30am. Kids wake up so early.

I dance back over to where I sat before and sit back down. My fingers dance in excitement over the letters opening and snap away from my gaze on it when I hear Rose loudly chomping on her cheerios.

"Juice?" Her head pops up and she cocks her eyebrow waiting for me to reply.

"Yes juice, I'll get you juice." I respond to her placing the letter carefully on the table and grabbing a sippy cup from the cupboard and filling it halfway with water and another half with apple juice. Rose takes the cup from my hands and begins to suck it down causing me to giggle. I take the two empty bowls and rinse them out placing them in the dish washer.

"Let’s watch Scooby!" Rose sings, getting herself down from the chair and wobbling over to me, I pick her up and rest her on my hip so I can refill her juice cup before watching her favorite show ever Scooby Doo.
