Natalie was seated in Mr Harrison's english class, in a familiar seat. The teacher was expressing a strong one-sided perspective about Romeo and Juliet's love being irrational.Arsen pushed open the door and slid into his seat.
"Mr. Jacobs, you're late once again. Could you please catch up him up on your notes, Natalie?" The teacher gave the command.
Natalie pushed her book towards Arsen, who turned it down because he didn't do any work.
"The real question is why did these two sacrifice so much for a lustful moment?"
The teacher went on and on with his outburst.
Natalie sprang out of her seat, enraged at the plainly skewed viewpoint being expressed.
"There is a significant difference between Romeo's passion for Rosaline and Juliet's love for Juliet. Romeo and Juliet were in love and wanted to spend the rest of their lives with each other, which is acceptable. You never want to risk losing the one you've found. They were aware of the dangers and ramifications that came with their love. So he wasn't stupid, and she wasn't either. They were a formidable force when they worked together." Natalie explained.
"How did you figure that out? Have you heard it from Shakespeare himself? Huh. You've only been whipped on it because Leonardo DiCaprio plays the actor in the movie. Teenagers as they are." The shaggy- haired teacher argued.
"Look, pipe down. No man cares that much for someone he doesn't see himself spending the rest of his life with. So, instead of categorising girls, sit down and teach your class something we will need." Arsen defended the girl sat beside him.
Natalie smiled at the boy upon being knocked out of her thoughts by the sounding of the bell.
The girl hurriedly exited the classroom, rushing to the cafeteria to avoid being caught in the swarming classes.
The girl was about to walk down the hall when her arm was grabbed, surprising her.
"I just wanted to say that when you defended yourself back then, you were awesome." Arsen informed her.
She returned, "Thank you."
The young man grinned. That was the first time she spoke to him before nodding and walked away, leaving the girl alone with her thoughts.
After her talk with Arsen, the girl confidently smiled down. Thoughts flooded her head as the boy lingered in her mind.
Why was he being so caring? He was supposed to be a stone cold bad-boy, according to the rumours she'd heard.
When he found out her ranking on the popular chain at Northside High, he probably wouldn't bother talking to her.
Her gaze was drawn up to him, who was flashing an enticing smile at a blonde cheerleader who was clearly smitten with him.
Who did she think she was kidding? Natalie had only known this boy for a day, yet she was already addicted to him, as if he were her own particular addiction. Her gaze quickly travelled up to his face on the cheerleader's face, much to her dismay.
Natalie rolled her eyes as she shoved her items inside her locker and slammed the door, alerting him.
Arsen's gaze shifted to the brunette walking away from her locker and began edging away from the cheerleader.
"Give me a call." He finished his trip back down the hall.
Arsen couldn't help but turn around for a final look at the brunette from earlier. He raised the corner of his mouth slightly before shrugging the sensation away.
Natalie made him reconsider what he thought he knew. In comparison to the other stereotypical females at Northside High, she was sophisticated and driven.
The boy regarded her as a test for himself. That's when he made his decision. His next conquest was Natalie Jones. He characterised her as if she were a stronghold that needed to be conquered.
Arsen felt a touch of remorse as he spoke about her in this manner, which perplexed him, causing him to head off to join some others attempting to dismiss his thoughts.
