Miniforce Black Opal; Episode One: Max And The Beanstalk

Part Three: Terrible First Impression's

   Freya ran straight up to Max and summoned her dark purple gladius. She was making a hit, but Max counter-attacked by summoning his force axe and hit the gladius back. On the left side of the road, Liam went straight for Lucy and summoned his crossbow that was crimson, just like his armor. Then he knocked three arrows and fired.

"Oh no you don't..."
Lucy muttered as Liam shot the arrows.

Lucy instinctively summoned up a forcefield, and the arrows bounced harmlessly off her shield. And Liam went wide-eyed.

"What!?"
Liam said , caught off guard. Lucy was sure there was a sparkle of either curiosity... or he had an idea of some sort. But he was certainly surprised about her magic.

"This surprised you?"
Lucy teased back.

She made her shield get bigger and then exploded it, causing a great wind current that knocked Liam over and on his back. On the other side of the road, Volt and Sammy were busy with Analyn. Analyn brought out her onyx-colored sword and slashed away, with barely any effort.

"Are you even trying?"
She taunted as she swiftly swung her sword while standing in one spot.

"What are you even doing here?"
Volt said as he tried with most of his effort to hit her.
Sammy wasn't having much luck either, he tried with his sword, axe, and bow but none of them worked.

"Why, that is none of your business. But, since it seems you guys are going to lose, I might a well just tell you before your death,"
Analyn shrugged, then right as Sammy shot his bow, she countered it with her onyx sword. Volt tried to hit it with a sword of his own, but she reflected it as it bounced off her blade.

"I don't want to take control of the world believe me, all I need is to make these people understand me. A little revenge won't do much damage, would it?"

"You don't need revenge, it isn't always the answer!"
said Volt as he kept trying to get past her sword, "Revenge isn't as good as you think,"

"Says the one who actually likes to get revenge,"
Sammy murmured teasingly. Probably to get Volt's attention. Over by the outdoor cafe tables, Leo was attacking swiftly at the guards. Every minute, he took out over a dozen of them, but more kept coming again and again.
But with Lucy and Liam, the two of them were doing some kind of pattern. Liam would try to stab, and Lucy dodged, then Lucy tries to stab, then misses, and Liam would dodge and try to stab again and misses, and so on. But then came a chance where Lucy slashed at Liam, which left him dizzy for a few seconds while standing. But not enough, because right when Lucy was about to knock him out, Liam switched his weapon to a sword and stabbed the hilt of it at her right shoulder, very hard. Which left Lucy staggering back, clutching her right shoulder, starting to wheeze a little.

"Ouch.."
She mumbled as Liam was walking up to her, about to finish the little fight. Then suddenly, a black figure ran past Liam. Lucy looked up to seeing him collapse on the ground. She looked to her right to see the black figure standing a few feet away, holding an obsidian dagger.

"....Ray?"
Lucy said as she recognized him. He stuck his hand out, she grabbed it, and he helped her up.

"Well, it looked like you guys needed help,"
Ray said vaguely. The second Lucy was on her feet again, he pulled away. Lucy was still clutching her shoulder, and when she let it go, there was a very visible dent in her armor.

"Well, this armor won't last long against these villains,"
She muttered.

"You think?"
A voice said behind her. Lucy and Ray both turned around and saw Leo trying to fight off about 20 guards at the same time. His armor was marked and scratched, as it the guards were trying to literally rip it off. Before Lucy could react, Ray rushed over and started slashing his dagger, and soon, the guards were all knocked out.

"Volt!"
Shouted Sammy behind all of them. Lucy, Leo, Ray, and Max looked in their direction. Volt was lying unconscious on the ground, while Sammy was rage-fighting Analyn.

"Volt! We've got to help them!"
Yelled Lucy, who instantly rushed to Analyn right when she finished speaking. She pulled out her sword and started slashing wildly at Analyn, while Sammy was also trying to hit her, but stopped because he was trying very hard not to get hit by Lucy.

"YOU LITTLE..."
Lucy whispered loudly. She never liked when her friends got hurt. And she did not like the fact that she wasn't there to take the hit instead. Instead of helping, Ray, Leo, Max, and Sammy were watching her on the side as she went feral.
Sammy was still very tempted to help, but he also didn't want to get hit in the gut by Lucy's sword. Sammy noticed that Analyn as actually trying to not get struck by Lucy. Analyn was taking multiple steps backward, then Lucy finally got a hit on her side, and she stumbled back on the concrete road, but didn't land on her feet. Instead, she toppled over and fell on her back. Lucy walked closer and loomed over Analyn, gripping her sword harder, while Analyn was looking down at her locket where the chunk of the Opal was.

"Lucy, stop," Leo started.
"We don't want to kill her,"

Lucy stopped for a second to look back at him. But she shouldn't have, because right when she did, Analyn hit the blade of her sword into Lucy's chest. Lucy flew backwards and landed on her feet, crouching. Her armor was definitely dented. No doubt.

"Lucy, are you ok?"
Max said, crouching up beside her.

But while he was talking, Freya straight up slashed Max and he fell over, leaving a mark on his armor. And it left Analyn looking very pleased. Then while the team was worried about Lucy and Max, Analyn motioned her guards and Freya to retreat back to the ship. They gathered all the humans they caught, and dragged them closer to Analyn. They did what they came here to do.

"Well, that was certainly fun,"
Analyn said with pride as the guards picked up Liam and went back to her. Freya also speeded up to not get left behind.

Then everyone gathered near Analyn. Freya was now holding one arm over Liam to help steady him, both standing next to the General. Analyn touched the brass locket dangling from her neck. Then she mouthed something. And the next second she did, Analyn and her army disappeared. The battle was over now. And the Miniforce didn't win.

"What — what just happened?"
Volt stammered as the mist from Analyn's disappearance swayed in the air, then dissolved.

"We didn't win this time, but next time..."
Ray said, then trailed off. Thinking of the possibilities of failing against this villain.

"We will win,"
Volt said with no doubt, trying to lighten the damp spirits of the team.
"But for now, we wait."
