WELCOME TO BEACON HILLS. The sign basically taunted me as I drove by it. I didn't know how to feel about coming back. Don't get me wrong, I miss Derek, of course, I do, but all the memories and the pain hit me like a bus when I drove past that sign, making me regret ever coming back.

I never thought I would be back here, especially moving back here. Why didn't Derek let me take baby steps and start by just visiting? I'll never know why. I know he didn't mean to hurt me but it did, it hurt, being back here.

As I was letting my thoughts overpower my brain, I snapped back into reality as I drove up to a red light. While I was waiting I started to hear people arguing, maybe? What they were doing exactly, I wasn't quite sure of. As the other car began getting closer, I heard it.

"I don't know, okay? All they say is we'll talk after Kate's funeral when the others get here." A female voice stated.

"What others?" A different voice, male this time.

"I don't - they won't tell me that either." The feminine voice said.

"Okay, your family has got some serious communication issues to work on."

"Scott, are we going the right way?" The male voice spoke louder.

There was a pause, I tried to listen more closely.

"Take the next right" A different male voice spoke.

I heard the tires of the car screech as I assumed they turned. I paused as I realized something...Scott, Scott McCall. The light turned green, but instead of driving forward, I decided to back up, turn around and follow them to where they were going. I cringed when I realized how stalker-ish it sounded in my head. I followed them into the woods and parked far away so they wouldn't see my car. I got out slowly trying not to make noise. I shut the door with a small push.

I walked slowly behind them trying to keep my presence unknown as much as possible. My breath hitched in my throat when I realized where they had gone, and where I currently was.

It was my family's house. The Hale House. I started blindly walking forward. I could hear the people speak again.

"She came here? You sure?" The unidentified male questioned.

"Yeah, this is where the scent leads," Scott answered.

The teens started walking closer. With each step I took, I could feel the pounding of my heart and the shaking of my hands.

The unnamed male spoke again. "All right, but has she ever been here?"

"Not with me," the girl answered.

There was another pause. I began to move closer.

In a hushed whisper, the girl spoke to Scott, "Maybe she came here on instinct like she was looking for Derek."

I quickened my pace at the mention of my brother's name. What had he gotten himself into?

Scott finally spoke, "You mean...looking for an alpha."

"Wolves need a pack, right?" The girl replied

"Not all of them."

"But she would have been drawn to an alpha? Is it an instinct to be a part of a pack?" The girl questioned with worry evident in her voice

"Yeah, we're--we're stronger in packs." He replied

She nodded, "Like strength in numbers."

"No, like--like, literally stronger, faster, better in every way." Scott elaborated.
