// Third POV //Tuesday, June 15th has to be worst day TXT has had in years.
It didn't start off that way, today began like any other day for the five young men. They woke up at dawn, ate breakfast, took showers, then went to the practice rooms to learn the choreography for their next comeback.
They just had a comeback last month but it's never too early to begin learning choreography, especially when they are so hard.
The guys bowed respectfully to their choreographer, Laine, before walking to the center to begin stretches.
Right off the bat, the kids could tell something was up.
Laine was playing with his hands, not exactly nervous but cautious, almost as if he could pretend the band members' reactions.
Soobin gave a look to the man after Kai pointed it out to him. Worried that something was going on and just trying to be polite, the tall leader went over to the staff member and asked if he was having a good morning.
Laine was a balding man, late forties and shorter than Soobin by five inches. He put a tattooed covered hand on the younger kid's shoulder in a calming yet intimating fashion.
"Soobinnie. I wanted to talk to you all about this but I think it's better if I just told you."
Soobin was curious. "Told me what?"
"Well, Soobinnie, I had a meeting with Mr. Bang about the talk we had and he said that he had other plans."
Recognizing the tone and body language of his senior, Soobin felt a river of anger reach his bloodstream. Being careful of his tone, the leader responded:
"Plans?"
"Yes." Laine knew that he couldn't sugarcoat it any longer and explained everything in more detail. "Hoseok has already been assigned to design the dance. He said that we could discuss Yeonjun making the dance next comeback."
"WHAT?" Soobin didn't mean to raise his volume but he couldn't help it. The rage was lifting him up, taking him higher with every breath.
Laine has seen the members get annoyed in practice before. Dancing is hard, and it usually takes hours and hours of suffocating work to get dances perfect. TXT were still rookies, only two years old, so they had more expectation and critical eyes on them. They get more and more self-conscious about their performances as comebacks come and go.
This reaction was nothing like Soobin. Sure, he gets angry, sometimes furious, but Yeonjun and Soobin always made sure them and their members were prim and proper during work schedules. Instead of angry, Soobin usually gets sad. And he was. But this time was different.
Soobin has advocated for Yeonjun's dancing skills since debut. Their boss knows this. He knows how close the two oldest are and how serious Soobin was about Yeonjun choreographing a dance. He was probably more vocal about it than Yeonjun was himself.
"I'm sorry, Soobin."
He is sorry, Laine wasn't lying, but Soobin couldn't believe it. He was too upset, too wrapped up in his own fury to see that his choreographer truly wished things were different.
Yeonjun could tell something was going on over there.
He told the three dongsaengs to stay where they were before stepping to see if his best friend was okay.
When he saw how upset Soobin was, he demanded to know what was going on. Laine told him and Yeonjun felt a peak of irritated before it disappeared.
