Beomgyu collapsed to the floor as soon as they got back to the dorm.
Soobin knew he was just kidding and being playful but couldn't help flinching when he heard Beomgyu's back hit the wooden floor.
Yeonjun, thankfully, beat him to it. "Christ Almighty, Beomgyu! You scared the hell out of me. Don't do that again!"
Kai and Taehyun simply stepped over their friend while their hyungs scolded him.
Huening Kai stopped the guys from going upstairs. The others looked at each other in confusion.
"I'm making dinner!" Kai proclaimed.
At first, there was silence. Then, the guys laughed.
Kai disapproved, shaking his head at the hyungs. "I'm serious! I'm making dinner!"
"Ok, what stupid thing did you do that you're trying to make up for?" The oldest crossed his arms, his face was formed in a teasing manner.
Kai didn't respond to the question. He got ahold of Yeonjun and Soobin's wrists, bringing his handsome oldest brothers to the kitchen by force.
Once there, the maknae set them down at the table. The two looked up in anticipation.
Kai wiped his hands on his pants before turning to his other hyungs, who followed his victims to the dining room table, and were told to sit down as well.
"I'll make you eat your words, hyungs."
The guys ooooed and ahhhhed as their youngest member ran around the kitchen, acting like a master chef, all the while his hyungs were secretly cheering him on in their heads.
Two hours went by (yes you read that right-two hours) before Kai revealed his invention before them.
The guys beheld his creation, surprised that it actually looked appetizing.
Now, you can call them mean, but you must know that Kai has never cooked a day in his life let alone offered to.
While they were trainees and couldn't afford to eat more than one meal a day: Kai, Taehyun, and Beomgyu relied on Soobin and Yeonjun to provide them with food. None of the members were necessarily great cooks, when you're hungry, you will eat anything.
Nowadays, the members have been taking cooking classes so that they can get better. Kai was the maknae and never had to worry about food, but the hyungs have been advising their kid brother to learn how to take care of himself.
Kai thought it would be perfect, after a long day at work, to impress his hyungs and make dinner.
He set the food down and then sat himself next to Beomgyu:
"On our birthdays, my dad used to make this special German dish: It's called Spätzle." Kai clapped proudly, putting his napkin in his lap. "Taste it, tell me if you like it."
The four men stared at one another. They were egging each other to try it. Soobin decided to be the taste taster since he was the leader. He got the spoon and put a teaspoon on his plate.
Everyone watched quietly as Soobin stuck the food in his mouth with bravery.
Kai was holding his breath, praying that the leader loved it.
