Chapter 4: Natsu

Saxe stifled a laugh as he watched the scarlet haired woman whom he had met earlier, Erza, hit the pink haired man over the head with her gauntleted fist. He fell straight to the ground clutching his head with a shocked expression on his face, eyes wide and mouth open. She crossed her arms and shook her head, looking down at him with a contemptuous glare.

"He's only a child, Natsu." Said Erza, suddenly pulling Saxe up against her side. He cried out in pain as the side of his head hit her breastplate, and she seemed oblivious to the fact that it hurt when you did that to someone.

Natsu woozily stood up, rubbing his head, "But he's strongggggg.." whined Natsu, carrying the "g" in "strong" to emphasize his point.

Saxe carefully broke free of Erza's grip and backed away from the scarlet haired woman. He rubbed his head carefully where he had been hit by the armor. He held out his hands, a bit scared of her. "Please don't do that again, Erza-san. I don't think my head can take another hit."

Erza suddenly turned to him with a death glare, "Do you not like my hugs?" Her voice had reached a scary pitch as she looked down at him.

Saxe's face went white as a sheet as he backed up even further from her, "N-no of course I do!" He tried to smile but all that came out was a wide eyed expression.

Erza sighed and smiled at him, "Good, I'm glad. It would be troubling if there were something wrong with my hugs."

Saxe turned to see that Gray was quickly approaching the three of them. He was surprised by the scowl that Gray had on his face when he stopped besides Saxe. Gray's icy glare was not fixed on Saxe, but on Natsu. "I see you haven't changed at all, Flame Brain."

Natsu was suddenly glaring right back at Gray, "Same to you, Popsicle Princess." Saxe actually stifled a laugh at that, causing Gray to turn his glare in his direction. Saxe froze, and a smile evaporated from his face. He definitely didn't want to be on the receiving end of that glare again.

Gray sighed, probably used to this by now. "Where's Lucy and Happy? Still on their way back from your job?"

Natsu scratched his head, thinking. "I don't think they're too far behind. I got hungry and raced ahead once we could see Magnolia."

Erza sighed as well. Saxe noted that it seemed to be a custom for people to sigh at what Natsu did. "That does sound like something you would do." Erza paused and thought for a second, "We could go meet them if you would like, Gray, Natsu." she turned to Saxe, "Do you want to come as well or will you be fine here with the rest of the guild?"

Saxe hardly had to think about it, "Sure," he replied, "I'll come! It'll give me a chance to really get a look at Magnolia since I didn't pay much attention when I walked through earlier today."

Erza nodded, "Very well. Let's head out, you three. We do have to retrace Natsu's path err... the path of his nose at least."

They started to walk out of the guild but were stopped by Elpis' voice. "Wait where are you guys going?" Saxe regarded her for a second with a frown. The blue haired girl had been sticking by his side ever since she rescued him, and he found it to be slightly weird. It wasn't necessarily a problem, but it was just... odd.

Erza responded before he could, "Oh we're just going to go meet Lucy and Happy, as well as take Saxe on a mini tour of Magnolia. We might even dine if we get the chance. Are you interested in joining us?"
