Nobody Parties Like A Gryffindor

Once Arriving at the gates of the castle all the first-year students were guided into a corridor as the rest of the students filled up the great hall. Once all the other students were placed at their tables, decorated with their corresponding house colours, Professor McGonagall gave the first years a little speech and then lead them into the great hall, all eyes on them as they walked to the front of the hall. James and Sirius seemed confident in where they were going to be sorted, whereas Peter was an anxious mess just praying he wasn't sorted into Hufflepuff and Remus appeared not to be phased either way.

Professor McGonagall started calling out names from a long parchment, Sirius was one of the first few students to be called up, he was confident he would be placed in Slytherin, but much to everyone shock, specifically his, he was sorted into Gryffindor. There was an awkward silence and whispers around the hall before claps and cheers made their way from the Gryffindor table, the poor pale-faced boy made his way over and sat in silence for the rest of the sorting ceremony. Next in the group was Remus, the hat took its time with him before finally deciding on Gryffindor as well. Peter and James were both placed in Gryffindor, the hat barely touching James' head before the decision was made whereas Peter had the longest sorting of our year. Honestly, Nova wouldn't have been surprised if it was the longest sorting EVER. Finally, it was Nova's turn to be sorted. Suddenly conscious of all the eyes on her it almost felt as if she had forgotten how to walk, the only comfort she could find was the smell of James on the jumper she had borrowed, now feeling slightly overheated. As she sat down on the chair and the hat was placed on her head the sounds of quiet chatter around her faded and she felt as if she was in a room alone with herself and the hat. She was startled when the voice came out of nowhere, almost sounding as if it was coming from within her head, not like a voice of another person "Hmmm, I can see you've gone through a lot in your life Nova Williams" The hat did not sound judgemental, just as if it was analysing all the nooks and crannies of her brain, which frightened her endless "You've faced some terrifying things, some of which not even the most powerful witches or wizards could have faced". She placed her hands on her knees in order to prevent anyone from seeing them shake, surely that wasn't very brave of her "You're street smart but you don't particularly value book knowledge" Nova couldn't help but feel like this was a personal attack "You stand up for what you believe in, I see" she let out a huffed laugh "Yes, very brave, with the desire to protect the ones you care about" She could almost sense that her friends were holding their breath "You're loyal too, you could yet make a good Slytherin" she let out an unsatisfied grunt and the hat responded "Not Slytherin ay? Well then there is only one other option" 

The second the hat was lifted off her head she could hear the cheers from the Gryffindor table and could see her friends just as excited and she was to be sorted into the same house as them. She had never particularly felt courageous, she had just done what she had to do to survive. Nova had never seen so much food plated in front of her as she had right now, everyone was enjoying their meal while Nova was listening to some of the older students talking about how there was going to be a start of term party in the Gryffindor common room tonight, and honestly, that sounded like exactly what she needed. After dinner was done the students made their way back to the common rooms while the head boys and head girls did a short tour of some places in the castle that were high traffic areas such as the library, bathrooms etc. eventually they made their way to the Gryffindor common room and they were given the password to enter through a portrait of a fat lady, it was all very interesting to Nova.

When they entered the common room all the students had set up banners and decorations welcoming the first years into Gryffindor "NOBODY PARTIES LIKE GRYFFINDORS DO!" Someone screamed as the other students cheered and the music started and drinks were being handed around. The head boy showed the boys to their dorms and the head girl showed the girls to their dorms, that way they could freshen up and change before joining the party. Due to there not being many girls in Gryffindor this year it was two students to a room, Nova's roommate was a pretty redhead called Lily Evans, she was absolutely stunning with long orange hair, green eyes and a perfectly curvaceous body that had Nova almost falling in love with her right then and there. She pushed away the gay for the time being and decided to work together with Lily to make them the two best looking women in the house tonight.
