Chapter 5- Not in it (luke POV)

I rolled around in bed. Another sleepless night. Sighing, I got up and checked the clock, 5:34 am, okay better than yesterday.

I walked down stairs getting ready for my workout, i do it every morning just to get the blood pumping.

-after workout-

Sweating I dashed to the shower, I feel like showers are perfect in the morning cause they make you feel so fresh for the morning. Also to clear my mind.

'Bing'

I sat up, my mind immediately going to zoey.

Jake: picking you up at 8 am right?

I replied quickly, and at the end i felt a sad pit in my stomach why did i assume it was zoey? Why did I care? I only met her yesterday............ confused I weridly sent her a good morning text, i feel like someone would like that you know, getting a good morning messag. I dont know i think something is wrong with me.

-at school-

"Yo bro, you look kinda down today...you okay" jake asked as we walked to lunch.

"Yeah just thoughts i guess nothing that special" I replied not really to share my feelings.

"Mhm well I hope you know that I am here for you no matter what"

"K" I said, setting down my lunch at zoeys table.

"Dude why you sitting there?" Jake asked realizing i wasn't behind him.

"Just wanted to say hi to zoey"

"Mhm well i should meet this zoey" He smirked.

"None of that dude, i just think she's cute...nothing else"

Middle into lunch I saw zoey and waved. Weridly she ignored my wave and walked in the other direction, hmm she either didn't see me or i did something wrong. Latching on my seat i got up to go talk to her.

"Where you going babes" Luna smirked pulling my arm back to the seat.

"I'm sorry i was just going-" i was interrupted by her stuffing something into my mouth.

"Nah, that can wait here to eat lunch with me" She smiled brightly.

"Well-" i started again.

Just then I looked around me, holy shit. Zoeys table was not full with boys and girls laughing and flirting, there was no way i was gonna get out of this alive.

After lunch i tried to reach her though the crowd but as me being tall and her the oposite she was easy to squeeze past and i had to stay behind.....was she avoiding me, i shook out the thought of it, was i thinking to much into it.

School wasn't by fast my mind was very out there. I have football practice today and i better not be slacking......

-end of football practice-

"Mr.Malborna can you please wait after class?" Coach yelled as as I grabbed my things.

"OoooOOOoo" Laughed my team mates.

Ignoring them I caught up to coach "whats up" I ask him.

"Well Luke the thing is you were playing quite trashy out there......Is there something one your mind....something at home you need to talk about?" He asked politely.

"No not really" I grimaced. Bring my hand up to my hair. Why was everyone asking me this..I'm okay!

"Well I'm sorry but somethings up, when we got on you this team we all Vowed to play our A game and if i dont see you being up the pace we might have to set you out for the game next Friday"

What! "IM sorry coach i promise, I will get better just dont bench me...." I asked

"Well i better see you pick up the pace then" He said "alright boy go catch up see you Thursday for practice"

I hurried out of the field to were jake was standing. "Dude what took you so long" jake mumbled.

"Oh...just some stuff" I replied not wanting to be a problem.

"Dude you ain't got to hide it....we all saw how you were playing out there...............very interesting............-"

"I guess there's something but i dont really wanna talk about it"

"Mhm well you're in luck maddies is holding a party and we are invited, even thought she well her, her parents are crazy rich and well its at her house" He squealed like a 10 year old "it's perfect to get your mind of stuff"

"I dont know-" I started

"I only hear yes's also I invited zoey so............maybe" he gave a smoochy face.

"Uh..." I mumbled awkwardly

"Sleep on it" He said.

Idk if i getting any sleep tonight I said to myself. Maybe this party might be a good idea..................wait zoey might come. Ugg nvm. I reached for my phone and blindly sent her a text

Luke: Hey luv, heard your coming to Maddies party......

I waited a few minutes. And no response....
