She stared out as the sun rose, peaking out through the horizon. She'd stayed up all night again.

Thinking.

Thinking about things that don't matter. Oh well, looks like I'll be falling asleep in class again she thought might as well get something to eat. She quickly got ready, slipping on a smiley face crop top and some high wasted bell bottom jeans. She didn't need much makeup or any fancy clothes. For she had such natural beauty it shone like a blue sapphire in a bag of rocks. She didn't think so of course.

The year was 1975.

The mornings were all the same to her wakeup, get dressed, get something to eat. She went downstairs to see her mother smoking a cigarette. The sight of her made Breann's stomach turn. Things haven't been the same since her father had left them 3 years ago. Ever since then, her mom had become less of a parent, and more of a friend. Her mother would insist on breann dating boys, staying out late, and not going to school. She didn't date boys, she had no friends to stay out late with and even though school was her worst enemy, she knew if she didn't go she wouldn't have a chance at being a writer. "Well I'm off to school." Breann yelled as she walked down the steps to their two bedroom apartment in the middle of Los Angeles. "Are you sure you don't want to take a day off? You don't have to go." Her mom called back to her. "No, its okay I can't really miss anymore days because graduation day is only a couple months away." Breann yelled as she shut the door.

Fucking hell here we go she started walking down the musky LA street past some hobos begging for change to get a fix. She soon reached her halfway decent highschool just in time for first period. She was always the invisible girl, the girl no one talked to and no one picked on. She was the girl you asked for a pen and never gave it back because she was to shy to ask. Always forgotten. It wasn't always that way though. In the beginning of the year, she had many boys try to take her out on dates. Take her out for one thing of course. But when they realized she wouldn't give it up to some sweaty horny zit faced teens, she was no longer of use to them. Thus becoming invisible.

As the lunch bell rang, she grabbed her lunch alone of course. She actually didn't mind being alone, it allowed her to clear her mind and set herself right. But today was a strange day for her indeed. As she sat down she and begin to eat there was a note in her tray. It read:

Meet behind bleachers at 1:30
-anonymous

This ought to be rich she thought. So she finished up eating and did as the note said. As she walked to the bleachers she wondered who it could it be what did they want? Must be some kind of sick joke. She thought. She waited until she heard footsteps behind her. She turned to find it was Andy wolk, a boy that she'd a slight crush on since 9th grade. "Hi, uh I didn't think you'd actually show." He nervously chuckled. "Well I didn't think you wrote that note." She blurted out nice one dumbass. He looked down and took a seat on a rusty bench and motioned for her to sit next to him. They sat so close that Breann could see every detail of his face. His perky nose, blue grey eyes and light freckles made her teeth clench. "I, uh I wanted to see if maybe you, wanted to, go out after school? " He finally said with a hopeful look on his face. Yes yes! Hell yes! "Okay sure." She said grinning ear to ear. "Yes? Yes!" He said relieved, "um can we meet in the front of the school and I'll take you out for ice cream or something." They both stood up and headed to class. "Sounds great." She said blushing, "see you later." He winked at her at both parted their ways.

After school she awaited her knight and shining armor. Her mom could care less where she was, so she didn't bother to call. "Breann!" He called from his car. He opened the door like a gentleman, and they were off. "So ice cream?" He asked while they drove toward the parlor. "Yeah sure." She said. As they drove, breann noticed they passed the ice cream parlor, "Uh Andy, I think you passed it." She said looking back. "I know." He gave her a reassuring smile. Confused and a little nervous, she brushed it off. He then pulled up into an empty field and turned off the car. He stared at her up and down. "So breann," he said reaching his arm over to her "a lot of guys have tried getting in your pants, but you didn't let them. " he begin unbuttoning his shirt "but you know I'm different, I care about you, and I hope you care about me to." His shirt was off and so was hers as they begin to kiss. He felt up her bra and begin to undo the straps "Wait, stop stop, I," she couldn't finish because he shoved his tongue in her mouth "stop! That's enough!" Finally putting her foot down. "Take me home." She said with her arms crossed. "Are you serious?" He looked at her with his head tilted. She gave him a daggered stare and he knew she meant business. As soon as they got to the city he pulled over,

"Well I think you can take it from here." He said. She looked at him and got out the car, spitting in his face. "Fucking prick!" She yelled as he drove away. Walking to the nearest payphone, an all black car stopped next to her. She was just about done with guys hitting on her today. And the car window rolled down "Scuse me miss, I am terribly lost, and I was wondering if you could help me." A deep thick accent came from the window. "Yeah, okay why don't you just fuck me while your at it!" She coldly replied. As she looked at the window she noticed he really was lost. "You're not from around here are you." She finally cooled down. "Well no actually, I'm from a place where people are actually considerate of lost folks." The sly voice came back. She sat down on the curb "I'm extremely sorry, today just, isn't my day." The car door opened to reveal a tall lanky man, he took a seat next to her on the curb "You and I both." He said lighting up a cigarette "What's your story?" "Well, I hardly know you so I doubt I'll tell you my story." She said. "Well how are we supposed to get to know each other if you refuse to tell me your story?" He said offering her a cigarette. "No thanks" she rested her head on her hand. "You have beautiful skin, no wonder you don't smoke." He said stepping on the butt of his cigarette. He stuck out his hand "Roger." She shook it "Breann." She said, "look Roger, I have a proposal for you, I'll give you directions, if you give me two quarters for the payphone." "Did your boyfriend leave you stranded out here?" He said laughing. She looked at him surprised, "i can tell by your face you look pissed." He whispered to her, "how about, I give you a ride and you chauffeur me to where I need to go?"

He stood up. "Well you could be a murderer or rapist for all I know, but my day can't get any worse than this." She said getting into the car. "First, let me ask you something." She said. "What?" He asked. "Out of all these people on the street, you happen to choose me to ask for directions. Why is that?" She said "Well Breann I'm going to tell you a secret," he said leaning toward her "I was sort of kind of hitting on you." he winked at her, and sat back. Breann could help but blush and laugh uncontrollably.
