After that, they were no longer compatible. That was Roger's way of saying goodbye. Still, she didn't give up. She spent most her time trying to please him but of course, it didn't work.

Roger was at the studio with nick and David. It seemed something was bothering him.

"Roger you okay?" David broke the silence. Roger only stared at the wall for a while. Then sighed.

"I think... Breann is having an affair." He took a long drag from his cigarette. Nick and David looked at each other, with no surprise.

"Well, why wouldn't she be?" Nick took Roger by surprise.

"Excuse me?" He looked at the two of them.

"Roger, you hardly even talk to her. In fact we haven't even seen her in about a solid two months." David and nick were letting him have it. He never knew they felt this way.

How come everyone around him could see the damage he was doing but him? He was oblivious to it.

"What we're trying to say Roger.. is if she is having one, its nobody's fault but yours." After Nick said that he was off.

He took his coat and got into the car. But found himself not at home, but at Rick's house. He was hesitant to knock at first, but did anyway.

It was a short while before someone answered, Julia Rick's wife. "Hello Roger." She wasn't too pleased to see him.

"Hi Julia how are you? Is Rick home?" He was anxious to talk to him. But what made him even think Rick would want to talk to him? After all the shit Roger gave him because he was jealous.

She rolled her eyes and called Rick, he had a smile on his face until he saw who was at the door. "Roger?" He opened the door more to see if he was with anyone else. To his disappointment, there wasn't.

"Rick can I talk to you?"

"Uh yeah." He was quite confused, he was certain it was about Breann.

"I know you and Breann have a solid friendship with Breann. So can I ask what's going on with her lately?"

Rick laughed loudly making him uncomfortable. He soon couldn't stop laughing. "What's going on with her? You're kidding right?" He had a smile but it soon faded when he realized Roger was serious.

"You Roger, you're what's wrong with her." He was walking back inside already, "Rick wait." He called.

"No, Rick nothing. Instead of asking what's wrong with her maybe you should stop blaming other people for you're failure." He had enough of Roger taking advantage of him.

His whole life he was expected to listen, and he did until now. There's only so much a person can take. "Please Rick."

"No, its funny how you can treat someone badly but when you need them most they aren't there." Roger looked down. It was true, his whole life he always looked down on Rick.

"Makes you think huh?" He said before going inside. And that was the last he saw of him. He got in his car to recap what had happened.

Boy, he really was falling apart. What has his life become. It was about midnight when he got home. All that time he spent alone.. thinking.

It was the usual peaceful home. Breann walked out the room Maggie following. She was already a full grown dog.

What?

Roger just got her, didn't he? Had he been unaware that long?

She sat next to him, "Christmas is in a week." She said without looking at him. He knew, he already had gotten her gift but only because Michelle went out to buy it.

"Merry Christmas." He said and lighly touched her hand but she pulled away. What was he supposed to say?

She went back to her room. He sat alone at the table, with his thoughts... it was dangerous. Especially with Breann in the next room.

This would be their first Christmas together, and who knows? Maybe their last.

The house looked inviting, but there was so much tension you could feel it in the air. Boy did he have a surprise for her.
