"They're coming at ten today?" Yoongi asks, picking up a stack of hay from the pile.
"Yeah, ten," Jin responds, brushing his own mare slowly. Eomuk is a stunning brunette and her temperament just as cool, much like her owner's.
Yoongi places the hay next to where Jin's horse dines and brings his stallion out. He's a deep black, almost invisible at night. He brushes him while he eats and enjoys Jin's soft humming.
It's a normal morning, a day like any other. They have two coming by in a few hours, apparently at ten, for a one-time lesson. It's always fun with the new ones, seeing them gain confidence around these big creatures, gaining their trust, learning to trust them back. Yoongi brushes his stallion while he thinks about when he first learned to ride a horse. He was barely past six back then, the colt still towering above him. Many bones were broken falling off the back, but eventually, the two animals bonded. They learned to hold their ground with each other, creating an easy push and pull. Now, both stand side by side, Yoongi and Holly, grown stronger together.
Yoongi and Jin do some administrative work and get things ready for a few hours until the couple arrives. They arrive bumbling with excitement like the rest, awed at the horses grazing in the fenced-in area beside the farmhouse. A black-haired shorter one and a brunette taller one, joking around and tumbling to the main house like puppies; Yoongi watches leaning against his horse. Eventually, he sees Jin leading them over, pointing out parts of the place along the way.
"This is Yoongi; he'll be with you, Jimin."
They shake hands and exchange nice-to-meet-you's. The taller does the same with a simple "Taehyung." Jin says a few more things that Yoongi's trained himself to tune out over the years. He's a bit preoccupied with Jimin, the black-haired one, the pretty one, staring at him, looking him up and down, a shameless smirk plastered across his glassy, bright, smooth baby-like skin. Skin that glints a little in the light, that almost sparkles like his adorable eyes—
"Yoongi?" He snaps back to attention when Jin calls his name.
"Sorry, yeah?" He hears a short exhale from one of the patrons.
Jin points towards the horses roaming around the paddock. "Should we start?" He nods, avoiding the others' eyes, and they make their way to the horses.
Jimin is surprisingly strong, Yoongi learns. He hoists up the saddle with no issue, aided by his muscles. They stretch against his jean jacket as he adjusts the saddle so it's centered properly, bulging with every—
Yoongi shakes his head and looks away. Taehyung and Jin seem to already be on Eomuk and Gukmul a few feet away, so he needs to focus.
"Here, let me show you how to get on," he says moving closer.
"Please, how hard could it be," Jimin scoffs. He runs a hand through his hair with the other resting in the horse's mane. "You just hop on like a motorcycle, right?" he says with a laugh.
Yoongi smiles at the words and takes a step back, raising his hands in defense. "Alright, go for it." They get customers like this all the time, experts at nothing and asking for trouble. He crosses his arms and watches as Jimin hooks his left foot into the stirrup and pushes off the ground to swing up. Yoongi doesn't contain his laughter when he falls short, his right foot kicking into the horse's backside. He shrieks and runs off, letting Jimin fall onto the ground. Taehyung and Jin, on their high horses not too far away, point and laugh like the good sports they are.
Yoongi walks up to Jimin dusting off his hands and says, "Horses are a bit more complicated than motorcycles." He helps Jimin up, not commenting further on the mishap lest the blush on Jimin's cheeks deepens. Once they are all up and steady, the two riders teach them how to move in circles for a bit, how to turn, and how to stop. Taehyung and Jimin mess around, inside jokes thrown left and right, as Jin watches Yoongi watch Jimin. The latter takes off his jacket at one point, leaving him in a simple white tee. Yoongi demounts for a moment for some water, complaining of a dry throat. It must be the hot weather.
