Castiel sat on a pure white, fluffy cloud just outside of Heaven looking fondly down at the humans far below. They were like ants to the angels--tiny and insignificant. Although angels were supposed to be celestial beings made of love that helped the humans on their paths, working miracles in their favor, the angels regarded humans as vermin, not caring whether they died or lived as long as the angels themselves weren't bothered in their paradise high above.
Castiel, however, loved the humans as he ought to. Castiel especially kept watch on one human in particular--Dean Winchester. Castiel loved watching Dean throughout his daily activities, occasionally providing small, untraceable hints of supernatural help that could be easily mistaken for luck. Castiel spent many hours watching Dean, often providing him with good dreams so Castiel could see his beautiful smile.
"Castiel, quit drooling over the humans. You're an embarrassment," said Raphael sternly. Cas had missed the other angel's entrance because he was so engrossed in watching Dean. "Humans are undeserving of our magnificent power, and here you are catering to their every needs. Come back to Heaven, Castiel, and talk to your brothers instead of watching those foul creatures."
"I'll go in a minute," Castiel softly replied, staring back down at Dean dreamily.
"Good. I'll make sure our brothers are expecting to see you. You wouldn't want to anger them, would you?"
"I said I'll be right there," Castiel said with a slight bit of hostilitly as he broke his gaze with the teeming world below, but Raphael had already gone. Castiel sighed, looked back at Dean once more to see his emerald green eyes sparkle, and got up. Castiel's wings made a whooshing sound as he sadly left his comfortable cloud to join his brothers above in heaven.
