She stands there. Wondering where she is.

Wondering for a way out.

Wanting a way out, she tries to move but cant.

None of them can.

All they want is a way out.

All they want is for this to never happen again.

Especially by him...

"y/n... y/n... are you there?" Your friend Quin asks quietly while nudging your shoulder beside you.

You wake up startled from your weird day-dream.

Looking around frantically as if it was still going on.

"Sorry for waking you y/n, but its going to be your turn in a few minutes." She whispers.

"For what?" You finally respond back.

"For the presentations." She whispers a bit more loudly.

You forgot completely what was going on around you until her words finally hit your ears.

The presentation. If reading a bunch of stupid hamlet and doing more essays than speaking wasn't enough for this annoying English class teacher, he just had to give out a presentation to do as well.

You skim through your points on your que cards and remember some of the foggy memories of last night.

You barely got any sleep as per usual from it.

Even if you had a couple weeks for creating it.

School just never got better, even the last class before summer break.

And of course freedom. After 4 years of high school your time to escape was right around the corner.

Soon you will be graduating and it will finally be hopefully, but probably not worth it.

Thinking of freedom so far away made you run out of time.

"y/n, your up next."

Your stuck up teacher says in a snarky tone.

'Oh god.' Is all you can think to yourself the entire time while scrambling around the que cards like your hands are made of butter.

Once you finally got that part out of the way, you stand up slowly and awkwardly.

"We don't have forever miss y/l/n." He persists.

"Yes sir." You say back just not to cause any more trouble.

As you walk faster to the front of the class, feeling as though your in a different world you feel something sudden.

Bracing your fall while hitting the ground like a plank.

You look up blankly and see Jake snickering at his seat.

"Sorry about that y/n. Didn't see you there." He says sarcastically.

Others holding in a few laughs in the background.

You give him a death stare which makes his wide grin even wider than before.

Getting up and brushing yourself off from the dusty school floor, you continue on your path and start the presentation.

The rest of the class goes fairly smooth except for some comments from the teacher on how you could have improved your writing a bit more if you took the time to.

Luckily for you though Jake decided to be sparing enough for the rest of it.

Only studying your reactions and 'other' things as well.

Once class finishes and you all get dismissed for the day, you and Quin quickly make your way through the crammed halls to outside the building.

Taking a sigh of relief as you do so.

"If only he could just screw off for once." Quin says.

"Its fine really, hes done it for years. I can take it." You say defeated.

"y/n, you shouldn't have to deal with a jerk like that! Your such a good person and don't deserve anything like this." She says concerned.

"I know Quin, you tell me every time. But really don't worry about it. Soon this will be over and so will high school." You say cheerfully.

"If you say so y/n. But I will still try to look out for you!"

"I know you will."

'I know' You say again in your mind.

If only it could change a bit more though.

You and Quin say your goodbyes at the bus stop. Even though you have a license, you still don't have a car.

Its fine though, the bus is easier either way. A bit more annoying but it works out so who cares right?

As the bus pulls out of the school with many more behind it, you catch a look at Jake showing off his brand new sports car.

'What a show off like usual' You say in your head.

You envy him in a way.

He has a ton of friends.

Good grades.

And tons of money from his parents.

He would never need to worry about anything in his perfect world of attention.

Even though you envy him for those things, you would never give up one of your favorite people which is your mom.

Her words of encouragement when no one bothered, the fun bedtime stories when you were younger, and the brightest smile ever.

She was always able to cheer you up.

You feel a couple of tears form in your eyes.

Thinking about the old memories you had with her.

One thing you had wished with the other things along with graduating.

Once your 18, you can finally move out.

Finally away from him.
