I beamed. Freshman year I was finally in high school! I nervously run my hand through my hair and walked with my best friend.

"Can you believe it? WE'RE FRESHMAN!" Layla shouted in excitement. I glance down at my classes and I felt my face fall.

"What homeroom do you have?" I ask hoping we would at least have one class together. She took my sheet from my hand and compared reading everything thoroughly. Her smile wavered and she let out a huff of annoyance.

"The school hates us." She muttered and I felt my eyes get wide snatching the papers.

"NOT ONE CLASS? ARE YOU SERIOUS?" I shrieked. This day just got worse.

"It'll be fine. Just watch. C'mon we have to get to homeroom."she sighed and left for the other direction.

I came to my homeroom and peered inside. Already a bunch of students have seated and I didn't see one familiar face. I rolled my eyes in annoyance. Yeah great idea to mix the middle schools we will totally bond together. Note the sarcasm. I lugged to a seat and kept my head down just waiting for this to be over.

A teacher with a big cheeky smile burst through the door and made her way to the center of the room.

"Hi guys! I'll be your homeroom teacher for the next four years."

My head shot up and I could see everyone with a look of shock on their face. Four years? The same homeroom with the same people for four years?! I groaned and put my head back on the desk.

This could not get any worse.

Suddenly I heard the door open and laughter from the hallways filled the room.

"See ya guys." I heard a deep voice call out as I heard the door close again. I lifted my head up a bit so my chin sat on the desk. My eyes peeked over my arms as I saw a tall figure lean against the door. The door...I was right next too.

"Your late." The teacher said with a bit of a annoyance and motioned him to sit at a seat across the room. My eyes followed him. He had blonde hair that hung above his eyes and swept to the side. Unlike the other boys in the room who wore poser ghetto clothes he had on simple jeans and a white long sleeved. His black vans were silent as he walked to his seat. He was obviously well known and came from the other middle school. The girls who knew him gushed at him and started to adjust their clothes to show a bit more skin. If that was possible. Cue eye roll. His green eyes were bright as he flashed a smile to the girls, leaving them blushing. I could see why, he was gorgeous. He looked around the room when his eyes settled over me. His smile wavered and his eyes locked with mine. The laugh was gone from his eyes. His smile disappeared as he continued to stare. I finally looked away and looking at my hands like they were the most interesting thing in the world. The moment the bell rang I sprang from my seat and rushed to the door heading to my next class.

Once I say down in English I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. Okay, what the fuck just happened? I could still feel his eyes when I heard someone shout my name.

"Rae! RAEEEE!" Someone shouted and I turned around to see my friend Kelsey. My face lit up as I squealed and ran up to hug her.

"OMIGOD! I haven't seen you in forever!!!!" She screeched her blond curls bouncy.

"You look so different!" I gasped in realization. My originally nerdy (but in a cool way) starwars addicted bundle of random of a friend was now someone who wore skirts!

"What I actually look like a female?" She teased and I grinned and pulling her into the seat next to me.

"You got contacts!" I squealed feeling my own glasses and pushing them back up the bridge of my nose, "I feel so geeky now!" I giggled.

"Pshh I had an epifamy or whatever it's called. Plus...I met a guy." She burst out laughing when she saw my eyes bulging.

"OMIGOD WHAT'S HIS NAME?" I shouted eager that my friend had a new boo.

"Will and we are perfect for each other."she bit her lip and smiled at her phone whilst I was freaking out next to her. I calmed down and was about to ask about him when I heard a door creak open.

"Sorry I'm late." A familiar voice huffed and I could feel my blood go icy.

"Just take the seat across from miss Mitchell" I stiffened at the mention of my last name and I eyed the empty seat in front of me. Ugh why did it have to be him? I nervously played with my long dark brown hair when he sat.

He recognized me immediately and he had the nerve to smirk. I felt my cheeks get hot when I mentally slapped myself. What the heck? He's just some boy, I shouldn't care what he does. But for some reason when he looked at me, I felt not scared, but something I haven't felt in a long time. Vulnerable.
