Chapter 19-
Jaxson's POV:

I shifted into my wolf as I ran to where the warriors were already stationed at.

I was a little past the boarder but what confused me was the fact the southern boarder was the farthest away from the pack house, which is normally were the rouges try to get to.

So why are they at the southern boarder?

But my thoughts didn't last long as I hear breaking leaves and twigs under the weight of a rouges paw. All the warriors were at the ready behind me as I gave the signal to move forward with the attack.

In the order they trained with, some jumped forward into the bushes and jumped on the wolves while some started slowly stacking there way forward in waves.

I jumped in immediately and jumped on top of a small rouge.

My warriors acted fast either capturing or killing the rouges that were unable to capture. I was not able to point out a leader in the group and any brown furred wolf that was there were to skittish and small to be the leader.

As expected the fight didn't last long but the confusion afterwards would hang over our heads for hours.

As I started interrogating ever rouge catch today. Some giving good information, some contradicting themselves, and others seeming not to have a clue what they were actually doing. They said they just heard to attack this pack on this day and decided to come and see if others were here.

This was not organized as a group but as a chance gathering.

But one thing I did find out from one of the rouges was that the leader was a brown furred wolf but that he or she didn't stay for the attack but left a she wolf in charge.

Jane Evens.

She had told them to attack on this side of the boarder and to push as far in as possible. Which wasn't far at all.

None of them were sure why they were told to attack this side, most of them thought it was stupid and should of attacked somewhere else.

Which just showed me more of how unorganized this was.

We had captured 25 out of the 50 sum that were there. 15 were killed and the rest ran away past the boarder, where we could not touch them.

None of my warriors were badly injured and would heal with in the next day.

I would call this day a success if it wasn't for the fact I have no idea who actually was the one planning the attack and why.

Of course it had to have been the person who ordered Jane Evens to attack my mate. And it seems that Jane is like the second in command to this person and they don't like to be the one in direct order.

Instead they pass messages and orders through Jane.

I was in my office looking over the information I have collected about the rouges I have captured and the information they have given me as my door was opened and the very small and nervous looking Carolina walked in.

Carolina's POV:

He had now been in his office for the past hour after getting back from the interrogations, which took like 4 hours. It was now getting dark and I was ready to go to sleep, but would I now have to go to sleep without my mate.

The more this issue goes on the less I see him and the less it seems he wants my help or even me.

I decided once I got ready for bed, to go to his office and ask him to come lay down with me.

I don't think this will be successful, if anything these last few days has shown me. But there is no harm in trying right?

I decide to just walk in, instead of knocking. And walk straight up to his desk.

Of course once I did that the nerves hit me and instead of the confident walk I imagined myself doing I just shuffled my way in.

I got to his desk and not wanting to look him in the eyes yet I looked at the papers spread around his desk. There were notes he written down and some files about people that were scattered around.

"Is everything ok Butterfly?" He asked me.

I took a deep breath. "Yes, well no, I mean yes but I want something." I tried to explain but it just came out wrong.

"Oh. Ok, what is it that you wanted?" He asked giving me his full attention. He noticed I was nervous and I could tell he was amused by it.

"I wanted you to come to bed, it's late and I'm tired." I said wrapping my arm around myself and rubbing my hand up and down my sleeve.

"Um. I don't know Carolina. I was kinda planning on working a little later tonight. I got a lot of things to cover for this attack." He told me looking down guiltily.

I sighed "But wouldn't it be better to be well rested and then doing your work so you can focus and not make mistakes." I tired to reason but I didn't seem to work.

I was upset to say the least. Why was he doing this? Why was he pushing himself away from me.

I just sighed again and turned away, but before I left through the door and turned around and said. "Remember when you asked me earlier on today if I was upset with you. Well now I think I am." I said, not confident but just hurt.

And I could tell that, that hurt him as well. That I was upset by his actions and that he could easily fix them if he just stopped what ever it is he was doing.

I turned away and shut the door, headed back upstairs and in to our room alone. For the first time.

And for the first time in awhile I cried before I fell asleep.

I'm not a strong Luna Queen who won't take this treatment, i'm not a mate who will be able to leave there mate and still be strong on there own.

I am not a strong person as Jaxson once made me feel I was.
