Maid Marinette

~Marinette's P.O.V.~

"Bye mama! Bye papa! " I waved them goodbye and turned towards Tikki and Alya who were grinning at me. "So, shall we start with the movie marathon? "I asked and they both nodded enthusiastically. After watching 2 movies we were about to start the third movie when I noticed that we ran out of snacks, so I decided to get some from the kitchen.

~Tikki's P.O.V.~

Marinette went to the kitchen to get some snacks, popcorn and cookies to be particular. After 3 minutes her phone went off I tried to see the caller ID, it was an unknown number. So I went to the kitchen and handed Marinette her phone. Marinette raised an eyebrow at the phone when saw that it was an unknown number but answered the call anyway. I was quietly listening to their conversation but couldn't make out what the person on the other side of the phone was saying, I only heard Marinette say "Hello?... Yes, that's me...Yes.........".

Then her face paled and her eyes went wide as saucers and her phone fell out of her grasp and she fell to the floor crying. My eyes went wide after seeing her reaction but I was quick to scoope her into a hug but she kept crying. I moved my hands in a circular motion on her back in attempt to calm her down.

Then I looked down at the phone, the call was still on(is that the right word? I don't know 🤔) 'I wonder what the call is about'. I was about to pick the phone when the door burst open revealing a slightly panick, angery, worried,a little confused and concerned Alya.

~Alya's P.O.V.~

We (me and Tikki) were waiting for Marinette to bring snacks, while looking through the list of movies we could watch, when Marinette's phone went off, it was an unknown number. Tikki went to the kitchen to give Marinette her phone. I just sat there scrolling through the list of movies when I heard a soft 'thud' and quiet sobs.

I literally jogged towards the kitchen. I was worried,'Did Marinette tripped or something? Is she hurt? Why is she crying? If this have anything to do with the unknown call that person is soo dead!?!? ' I burst into the kitchen roughly slamming the door.

Out of any scenario that was possible I clearly wasn't expecting to see Mari (Marinette's nickname) crying on the floor in Tikki's arms and her phone in front of them. I looked at Tikki in concern and confusion, she looked at me then back at the phone, as if asking me to pick the call.

I picked the phone and placed it closer to my ear."Hello, I am Marinette's best friend. What did you tell her?" I asked, then a male voice spoke from the other side "Hello miss, I am from the police department. I wanted to let you know that Mr. and Mrs. Dupain-Cheng have gotten into an car crash accident and both are seriously injured they are at the_____________ hospital. Tell miss Dupain-Cheng I am sorry for the accident. "

I froze at my place, I couldn't believe my ear"O-oh, o-ok. T-Th-Thanks  for letting us know" I stumbled on my words ." It was my duty to inform you, take care" and with that he ended the call. I was still shocked by the news I heard. Tears were threatening to fall. Then I saw Tikki looking at me with really concerned expressions. I crouched down next to her her and whispered in her ears the whole situation. She seemed shocked.

~Tikki's P.O.V.~

I was too shocked from what I heard. I felt tears trying to escape my eyes, but Theni shook my head and thought ' I won't cry! This is not the time Tikki! Marinette needs help and support' I know Alya was also thinking the same. I and Alya helped Mari on her feet and guided her toward the living room and on the couch.

Mari was still choking on her sobs and tears. We sat he on the couch, I was rubbing circles on her back in a soothing way, while Alya ran to the kitchen and came back with a glass of water. After a while her sobs died down, she was a little calmer now.

~Marinette P.O.V.~

After a while I calmed down." Shall we head towards the hospital? " Asked Alya quietly. I slowly nodded my head I was still processing what I just heard. We got up and went to the hospital.
The ride to the hospital felt like eternity to me. I wanted to see my parents as soon as possible.

As soon as we reached the hospital I fast walked toward the registration table/desk ( is that what it is called?I have no idea🤷 ) with Alya and Tikki trailing close behind me.

"Excuse me miss "the lady dressed in white looked up from the computer screen (monitor - whatever u wanna call it )" Tom and Sabine Dupain-Cheng" was the only thing that came out of my mouth. I knew it wasn't the most polite way to ask but I was really worried. But she seemed to understand my situation and after giving me a slight nod she typed something and said " room number 208 on 3rd floor " .

I said a quick" Thank you" and gave her a thankful smile and rushed towards the elevator. Once I was on the third floor I speed walked towards room no. 208 .

My heart was pounding in my chest.When I reached the room I slowly opened the door only to see both my parents covered in bandages. Some bandages were stained in a little blood. They were covered in bruises an scratches.

I couldn't control my tears anymore I burst into tears. Seeing them like this broke my heart. Tikki and Alya were trying to comfort me even though I knew they were crying too.

"Excuse me miss, are you related with Mr. and Mrs. Dupain-Cheng?"(What kind of dumb question is that. Of course she is related or why would she be crying her eyes out) I heard someone speak. I looked up from the ground and wiped my tears to clear my vision.

Once my vision was cleared I saw a docter standing at the door. I slowly nodded my head in reply ."Y-yes, yes I am. I am their daughter. M-marinette." . He (doctor) nodded as though in understanding and turned towards Alya and Tikki. "They are my best friends Alya and Tikki " I pointed towards them while introducing them. " Miss, Can I speak to you outside?" He asked. I nodded and headed outside the room.

Once outside the doctor asked "Are there any other relatives? ". "Yes but my grandpa isn't well he is ill, and the others are either very far relatives or don't leave in France." I replied.

"Ok kids, listen here I will get straight to the point." I was confused by this statement and I think he understood me and continued "I know this is hard for you but I think you have the right to know this..."  He paused before continuing "...they are both in a coma..." I blankly stared at him. "...they are both in a coma..." That sentence rang in my ears repeatedly like a loop.

Suddenly I felt like my whole world crumbled, and felt like I was suffocating, it became hard to breathe. Then after few seconds I felt a hand on my shoulder and I heard both Alya and Tikki say in unison "Mari breathe, take deep breaths" I took a few deep breaths inorder to calm down my nerves.

Once I was calmed down I looked at the doctor who was looking at me with concern and asked him "For how long will they be in a coma?". "That can't be particularly said but the only thing we know is that it is longer than two years, but we are not sure if they will survive after that." He replied sadly.

" There anyway to cure them?" I asked. He thought for a while then replied yes there is thid surgery we can perform. This surgery is performed only by professional specialists and is therefore really expensive."  I was worried about the expense but was willing to take risk for parents. "H-how much?" I asked quiet unsure. He sighed and said "70 lakh each person." My jaw literally dropped to the floor. I knew the expenses will be high but I never expected it to be that high.

"Ok I will think about it." I paused for a moment "How much time do I have for their surgery?".   "By their condition you have nearly an year or so.." he replied.

"Ok , kids I will be on my way now. I some other patients to check up on. Take care kids."  And with that he left.

As soon as he left I sat on the chair clutching my head in both of my hands. I wanted to cry but there were no tears left to shed.  "I may have 5 lakh in my bank account." I heard Tikki . My head shot up and before I could speak Alya beat me to it  "Me too, I also have nearly 4 lakh in my bank account. I can also ask my parents for help-" before Alya could complete her sentence Mari interrupted her. " Guys you can't just empty your bank accounts for me. It is too much to ask for."
