Maya Chekhov was the Golden Girl. Loved by all, full of sweet smiles and an andy dance of amorous love for everyone around her. It really was like the sun shone specifically just for her, at least that's what all her friends said. Regulus thought different.
Regulus Black found Maya to be like the moon, the one who could see every face he put on and off and bathe it in a serene light till he could breathe. It had a long time since he'd gotten a chance to. He'd read about angels in the Bible, and he knew they were heavenly, and certainly, this was his own heavenly angel. An angel to the one boy she was sworn to not befriend.
It wasn't easy to love him, he knew that. With every bated breath, he knew it wasn't easy, and yet, she persevered. His brother had always told him to never look a gift horse in the mouth, but Regulus could see the second shoe just waiting to drop.
