"April!" her Mum yelled from downstairs.

She was so lost in the city, that she almost didn't hear it, and it blended with the noise. She quickly snapped back to reality- and wondered what was the matter.
She walked down the stairs, and
saw that her Mum was making dinner. "Oh, thank you." April said. Sitting down at the table to eat, her Father asked if she had a boyfriend yet.
"Uh. I- um..."
"No one take your fancy? With beauty like that, I bet you could get anyone!", her Father interjected.April tried her hardest not to look awkward.

She went to bed that night, feeling shameful, and so wrong, as she turned up her covers and pulled them up to her shoulders as if to shield the bad thoughts.
"Is it that easy to get a boyfriend? Why can't I? Why do none of the boys pay attention to me?"
Her last thought "Why... Why don't i like.. Boys?..."This realisation struck her hard... She had honestly never thought of boys- ever. She was never interested, and of course...
She went and pulled up the curtain cautiously, and stared out longingly to the streets below...
Of course she couldn't... She couldn't like girls- Obviously she couldn't... That went against every thing, every law, every social rule, every biblical page... It just wasn't possible... Right? ...Well, that was until she met Miriam, that is...
