Sophie Foster

Chapter One

I woke up not knowing what the day would hold. I looked over in the mirror and my hair was a mess. 

Today was the first day of my six year at Foxfire. I stood up and walked over to Vertina. 

"Wow you should not have gotten out of bed," Vertina says. 

I do not care one bite about what she thinks and go into the bathroom to get ready. 

I brush my hair when the door fly's open. I step out of the bathroom and am looking at Biana coming through my door. 

"Hi Sophie, I just wanted to let you know that you are going to come too Evergreen after school along with everyone else," Biana speedily said. 

"Umm okay I will be there, thanks for the invite," I said Turing back to brush my hair.

"Oh and one more thing, be ready to have fun," Biana said. 

Like I would have fun. We have to go back to school. I really do not want to go, but nun the less life moves on. 

I put on my uniform and walked down the stairs to the kitchen. I saw Edaline and Grady sitting at the table. 

"Good morning sweetie," Edaline said as I sat down at the table yawning. Once again I could not go to sleep and was very tired. 

"Hi," I said back almost falling asleep on the table, "Did you let Biana in just a bit ago," I said curious if that was them.

"Ya she seemed really excited that you could come over tonight," Edaline replied.

"Well that is one way you could put it," I said while Grady kissed the top of my head. 

"Good morning kiddo," Grady said walking over to the counter and sitting down there.

I was not really hungry so I just stood up. "I am going to go to school now," I said as I walked away from the kitchen.

"Honey you did not even eat anything," Edaline said trying to encourage me. 

I just refused and walked up to the forth floor. I said, " Foxfire," then light leaped away. 

When I got to the big glass pyramid I saw Dex waiting for me. 

"Hi," I said almost falling over because I was sooo tired. 

I do not even make eye contact with Dex because I just need to sit down. 

"Hey are you alright," Dex said stepping in-front of me.

"Ya I am fine, I just need to sit down," I say and I keep walking.

After I make it to the sixth year wing I lick the pad and it tasted funny. I did not think much of it. I grabbed everything I needed for telepathy and then kept walking. 

I passed lots of people in the hall. I saw Keefe coming over to me. 

"Hey Foster, how's it going," Keefe said.

"Great, just great," I replied. I did not even stop to talk to him because I really needed to sit down.

"Hey are you okay," Keefe said, his face showing worry.

"Ya I am Great, like I said," I argued not wanting Keefe to waste his time over me.

"Okay Foster, see you later," then he walked off to class.

I made it to telepathy but nobody was there, so I just sat down in the seat I usually sit in.  

I started to feel dizzy and cold. I looked up at the door way and Fitz had just walked into the room.

"Sophie," Fitz said running over to me. 

My vision started to go in and out. I could not respond. Then next thing I know I am coughing up blood and passed out on the floor.
