Chapter 8

Roseline's POV

I saw Nathan as he hugged her back. He looked so awkward that I couldn't help but giggle. I saw him giving me a playful glare out of the corner of my eye. As they pulled back, I immediately asked where father and sister were. She replied that they were inside. We got inside and I saw my father sitting on the couch. The moment he saw me, he ran to me and twirled me around.

"Hey Baby Girl! I missed you so much!" He laughed. And Nathan growled.

"Umm.. Dad I think you should let go. You see my mate isn't the sharing type" I warn him playfully. Dad puts up his hands in the air and steps back.

"Mine" Growls Nathan and pulls me back to him.

"We know son! Welcome to the family" Dad laughs and shakes his hand.

Suddenly, my sister comes down the stairs and looks at me and Nathan. She comes closer and says --

"Who's this hottie?" She FLIRTS WITH MY MATE!! My wolf growls at her.

"Hi Sis. This is my mate, Nathan Stone". I introduce Nathan to her, still not liking her tone towards him.

"Ooooh.. Well hello handsome. Why not reject her and pick me instead?" She bats her eyelashes and flirts. My jaws practically hits the ground.

"Umm... Sis, he's my mate.." I tell her confused.

"I know. That's exactly why I am doing this. You don't deserve him. You're an ugly and stupid bitch!" she spat at me.

"WHAT ARE YOU SAYING REBECCA?!" My mom thunders. I whimper as the harsh words hit me like a bunch of bricks. Nathan, on the other hand, growls and heads towards Rebecca and slaps her harshly. She gasps as the impact leaves a red stinging mark on her cheek.

"How dare you say these words to Roseline? She is a much better mate than you'll ever be slut!" he says to her in a low and murderous voice. My 'sister' whimpers and storms to her room.

"We are really sorry about the way Rebecca behaved. We didn't expect her to be like this." My dad apologises.

"It's ok but I never want to see her face again" my darling mate tells him. My mom and dad nod.

"Let's go Nathan. Bye mom and dad! I'll miss you!" I wave goodbye to my mom and dad. They wave back.

We head back to the car and sit down inside it. I finally let all the frustration and anger bottled inside me out.

"How dare she speak like that to me? She could have just wished me congrats!" I cry out.

"I know darling but you shouldn't let her words get to your head. She's just a stupid human" Nathan reassures me. I whimper and nod while resting my head on his head and letting the darkness take over me.
