"Are you sure you have absolutely everything?"
"Yes, Rose."
"Your uniform?"
"Yes, Alex.""Your five million chargers?"
"Yes, Jasper.""All your notebooks that you have nothing in?"
"Yes, Cyrus."
"Are you absolutely positive that you have everything you need? Once you leave, I'm taking everything you left behind."
"Oh my god, yes, guys, I have everything." I laughed.
It's kind of weird. I mean, I've only ever lived in one place, and now, I'm moving across the world. Away from everything. My town, my home, my school. I never would have imagined myself missing that school, but here I am, practically about to cry thinking about leaving it. I mean, it's where I met my friends, I built my whole life there. I honestly don't know who I would be without it.
I met my friends in preschool. We all grew up together. We've pretty much always been pretty different people, but I think that's what's kept us so close. Alex is the oldest and it definitely shows, it always has. Even though there's just a year's difference, he's super mature and very wise for an eighth-grader. He's always been our biggest supporter and is very protective over us. Cyrus is the most social out of the five, he loves talking and meeting new people, he knows all of the drama. But no matter how popular he is, he always makes the most time for all of us. According to him, we're his family and everyone else is just background noise. Overall, he's a very sensitive guy. Rose is an amazing athlete, her main sports are track, swim, and tennis. It's so captivating watching her compete. She's also really good at sports statistics, whenever there's a team she likes, she dives head-first into all their stats to see their chances of winning. Jasper is an artist at heart. He can do anything from visual art like painting, drawing, and sculpting, to music. Give him a song and he can figure it out in record speeds. While he has a hard time expressing his feelings, he will always make sure to let us know that he cares whether that's through giving someone an art piece or writing a song.
"Okay well, make sure to call us all the time, and text us. Ooh! And send us lots of pictures too"
Rose looked like she was about to cry. They all did.
I walk over and pull them all into a group hug. I held all of them as tight as I could, as if one falter in my hold would result in me losing my grasp on them forever. Through all the sniffles and tears, I could have sworn I heard Jasper crying right along with us.
"FLIGHT 202, BOARDING NOW. FLIGHT 202 BOARDING NOW."
"Well, that's me." I, somehow, hug them all closer than before and then slowly let go.
I look over and see my brother finishing his goodbyes to his friends and sigh.
I hug them all individually and say my final goodbyes. As I walk away I hear Jasper yell,
"I swear, you better not forget us, or I will drag your ass back here, you hear me?" I can hear his voice break at the end. I turn around and look back at their matching red, puffy, tear-stained faces, mirroring my own.
"I could never!" I yell back giving them a reassuring smile. I walk onto the plane and sit down next to my brother. "Ha! I got the window seat." I roll my eyes. "Okay, I guess my days of covering for you are finally over." I close my eyes and smile as he glares at me. "You're joking right?"
"I guess you'll just have to find out."

I get off the plane and stretch my legs after the 14-hour flight.
