YOU BROKE UP WITH HER,
REMEMBER?—— WHERE DID I GO? BY JORJA SMITH
—— WEDNESDAY,
DECEMBER 18TH, 2019i closed my locker for the final time until we come back from christmas break. wishing it wasn't, seeing as what's coming up in the next few days.
"dia!" i turned around and saw arrignton running up to me.
"are you coming to the meet up today?" i looked at him confused."what meet up?" dia asked, grabbing her car keys from her backpack.
"me, adan, and hannah are going to the mall today to shop and have a little meet up." arrignton started walking with me outside of school.
"a bunch of people wanna meet youu.""ehh, i really don't know." dia covered her eyes from the sun that was shining at us. it was blazing hot and i just wanted to go and lay at my pool. "i'm not trying to be out much, especially not trying to go on tiktokroom."
"dia ever since berkeley revoked your scholarship you haven't been wanting to be on anything. and plus the last time tiktokroom posted you is when you and mar broke up." arrignton argued. i rolled my eyes and unlocked my car.
"arrignton i've been on that page almost every month and i've only known them and tiktok since may!" i argued back.
"don't flatter yourself." arrignton scoffed. i gasped and slapped his arm. "ow! okay okay! i'm sorry. i'm just letting you know you have nothing to worry about that, it's not like your gonna get back to berkeley again."i quickly looked away and put my backpack in the car.
"you reapplied?" arrignton asked me. i sighed and looked at him.
"they reached out." i shrugged, simply telling him. arrington raised his eyebrow at me, confusion written all over his face. i groaned and placed my palm on my forehead.
"after me and mariano broke up, it was all over tiktokroom, they reached out to me saying if i can at least stay out of 'trouble' before i apply again, it's possible i can get the spot again." i explained to him."is that why you and mariano broke up?" arrington looked hurt, thinking that i used his best friend like that. my heart broke looking at his face.
"no arrington, i love-" i paused, realizing what left my mouth, "loved mariano. i would never use him like that. please don't think that. you know why we broke up and that was that. i promise." i reassured him. i wanted to be honest with arrington. arrington nodded, understanding what i said.
"listen dia, you don't need to put a act for a school. your an amazing person. if they can't see that, then that's their loss. you can make it without them." arrington shrugged and walked away from me. i groaned stomping my feet.
"have a good winter break, ms.bedelia!" i looked over and saw my principal talking to me.
"you too mr.west, stay away from the salt! don't wanna repeat last year's incident." i told him, reminding him of his heart attack. he glanced at me and walked back into the building. i scrunched my nose and got into my car, driving off.
