Dead Link

Chapter 1: A Dark Beginning

Hmm.....I'm not sure about this game called the "Dead Link". This game looks pretty suspicious. I scanned its format and it was named as unknown.
I don't know if I should take the risk of inserting this to my computer.

I don't even know why I bought this from the shady guy that sold it to me for only 1 dollar.But I can always try it on my old computer first.My computer took a long delay after I inserted the disc of the game then It suddenly blacked out. Damn it! Looks like my old computer crashed.

Then a mysterious login screen appeared. Its interface looked like a scroll used for demon contracts. At first I thought it was cool but it seemed to emit an evil aura. But my gamer instincts still led me to registering and pressing login. I registered with my username being the "CosmicBlade".

(By the way my name is "Shin Kagiyama". I'm 18 years old and I live alone In "Kyoto", "Japan". I work at a nearby grocery store that pays enough for my needs that includes vidogames..) My vision slowly whirled random images of a videogame and of what i see.

next thing i know i'm already in the game. A big brawny guy dressed in a Grim Reaper cloak with a dark aura welcomed me. He's name is the "GateKeeper:.

GateKeeper: Welcome new player. New player? me? so i'm in a game,but that's impossible this might just be a dream. I tried slapping my face It hurt but I still can't wake up.....Maybe I just need to stay for a while.

I tried to identify my surroundings. I see the gate infront of me while I'm lying on a black voidlike floor.

I tried to peer inside the gate and it was full of ruins of modern buildings. GateKeeper: What's the matter you seem troubled. Me: What is this place? Where am I?. GateKeeper: Finally,I was waiting for a question so I can start the introduction.

You are in the game "Dead Link" because your just new let me show you all the rules. (Words forming sentences appeared in front of me):

1.Your life is connected to the real world. A game death will result to an actual death in real life.

2. You are required to login once a month or you will die

3. Once you login you have to kill someone to be able to return to the real world.

4. When you enter the game a clone will be left and will act as you in the real world. When you return to the real world all the memories of the clone will be transferred back to you

5. You can't kill anyone in a resting zone.

6.This game is made by "Death" himself his orders are absolute. Remember to always check the rules to look for some changes......... It Ended with "Happy Killing From:Death".......... Every sentence shook me hard with fear...... The GateKeeper looked at me with an evil smile.

GateKeeper: Now that we are done with the introduction.You may now enter......

The GateKeeper waved around his hand with a dark force once to open the gate,and another wave that pulled me with a strong force to the gate.

My whole body flew like thin paper as it was dragged inside to the gate. I hit a broken post,then the GateKeeper shouted "Remember Happy Killing" before making a sinister laugh. My body hurt real bad but I didn't mind because of the thoughts in my head about this being real and the rules that i just read.

I slowly lost conciousness with this troubled thoughts in my mind....... Then later I was awakened by somebody's scream. Then I heard footsteps so I quickly ran to the nearest building that I can see. It was a hotel building. I went up a floor,and I hid inside the room number 15.

The room was a bit cleaner than I expected. It had a clean couch, and a bed on the floor. I noticed that I haven't closed the door so I quickly did.
