Tired, tired, tired. That's all that Y/N could think of while she sat at the kitchen table, picking at the slightly chipped wood.

Last night she had been up so late reading a book she had gotten a bit ago. It's return date was today so she had to finish it in one night. She had completely forgotten that you could simply ask for an extension on it in the panic that was her mind at the moment.

Though the story was quite good, they still had their doubts if it was worth risking your sleep for.

she snapped out of her haze from the clink of the bowl of porridge getting set in front of her "are you alright dear? You seem to be dozing off a bit more than normal" her mom asked. Though this was a decently normal question to ask Y/N's mom had always been a very big worry wart.

She never let her venture outside the Monstadt walls and it was very, very rare for her mom to let her go out the house without herself by Y/N's side. Recently she has been able to go out to the shopping center in the middle of Monstadt as long as she took the dog.

"Oh.. nothing I just had some trouble sleeping last night" Y/N replied simply, her chin resting on her palm. "Oh good. Though tell me if it becomes a usual occasion, there may be something wrong if so" Y/N nodded in response, looking back to her hand before finally starting to eat the food sitting in front of her.

Soon enough she was finished "good as always, mother" she'd give a tired but sweet smile. "Im glad" her mom would reply while putting down her newspaper and taking the bowl to put in the sink.

A moment of silence would pass through the room but was soon cut off by the sound of the sink tabs' running water. Y/N would draw circles in the wood once again soon later speaking up "hey mom.. I was wondering.. Since recently I've been able to go out by myself.. if I could also drop off the book I borrowed from the library.. Uh.. by myself, that is"

"Hm? Why can't I join you?"

"Oh uh- no reason.. Just kinda wanted to" there would be quite a long pause as the tab would be turned off "and your back pain hasn't been treating you so nicely.. Walking up and down all those stairs may not be good for you" she'd point out.

Though with this decently good point, the expression her mom held as she put the bowl away showed that she was still a bit iffy about it.

"..there's a bunch of guards in the area too" she'd add on "and I mean a lot" ..and now she's exaggerating a bit.

Her mom would let out a sigh "don't be gone for more than an hour. And while you're at it, pick up some fruits. Any kind really" 'an hour? That's more than usual.. Not that I'm complaining though'.

"Thank you so much!" Y/N would stand and push in her chair, gaining a small bit of pep in her step as she was able to ignore the heaviness in her eyes.

She'd rush up stairs and grab the book from her desk, then all the way back down stairs, about to grab the handle until she was reminded of quite a few things "wait! You have no mora and you need to take the dog!" 'right-' she'd cringe a bit at her sudden forgetfulness as she'd walk back towards her mom who was holding Y/N's satchel.

"Thanks..-" she'd awkwardly take it, slinging the strap swiftly over her shoulder, putting the book in the bag that rested against her hip. "I gave you about 3000 mora. It's already in the bags' main compartment" Y/N would nod and quickly go over to the dog that was already laying next to the door. She'd gently shake and pet it awake which the happy chocolate dog would quickly stand.

"Thank you so much!" she'd call before quickly leaving, the dog following close behind.

Running through the town, she was greeted with the familiar smell of sweet goodies and dirt, which may not sound like good smells to mix but it smelt like home.

She'd soon make it to the slightly large wishing fountain. She'd stop and turn around, looking down at the small market place. 'Alright, fruit first, book last' she'd quickly devise, dashing over to Blanche, the shopkeeper of the general goods.

"I would like.. 3 tomatoes and 1 milk please" she'd ask, which totaled to 460 mora. Y/N paid, and went on her way, drinking her milk as she went up stairs and along the pathways. Soon enough she'd arrive at The Knights Of Favonius HQ.

Y/N told the dog to stay and asked one of the knights to make sure he did so which the knight happily obliged. She'd swiftly enter into the library, giving the guard a quick nod and a smile before entering.

"Lisa, Lisa.. oh! Lisa!" she'd say silently to herself as she quickly spotted the purple librarian. "Lisa! I have your book!" Y/N would call, quickly walking over to her, and handing it. "Oh my, I was thinking this would be the first time you missed the due date" she'd reply, taking the book with a sweet smile. "Would you like to check out another book? Or is this all for now?"

"All for now" Y/N would clarify. She'd start to turn around but would stop in her tracks as Lisa started to speak again "as I see your mom Isn't here with you, I'd recommend going to the statue while you have the chance. there's word about a quite talented bard playing today" Y/N was a bit surprised that Lisa told her to go further then she has in a decent while with or without her mom, but there's no harm in trying.

"Alright, thank you Lisa!" she'd thank, leaving to find her dog in the exact same area.

She was standing at the bottom of the stairs that would quickly lead her to the quite large, and very unmissable Barbatos statue. She was debating whether to go against her mothers wishes.. 'Well.. she technically didn't say how far I could or couldn't go..' she'd think, before quickly convincing herself to go full steam ahead.

She'd again go up and up the stairs. very quickly the air was filled with strings and cords of a lyre, which she assumed was of the bard Lisa spoke of. Every cord strung was perfectly pleasing to the ears which only made Y/N speed up a bit, as the small crowd was now in sight.
